Side Assist retrofit

Hi guys,
I have a 2020 XCellence ST with the packet M+, ambient lights included. Is is possible to retrofit the side assist (blind spot detection)?
If so, is that just a coding exercise or am I missing some extra hardware?

Thank you for any ideas!

Apparently, VAG cars have some special hardware that you may not have in your car. See the attached image. Maybe some expert can tell us for sure

I am also interested in this retrofit. I hope that who already have the wraparound lighting (I have a fr) just need to install only the rear hardware and activate the functions. Does anyone know if this is the case or has he tried to do it?

You're missing all of the hardware & wiring

I just realised how old this thread is 🤦‍♂️
But it is still relevant... And probably will stay so. I've found this thread in Google while searching for possibility to install BSD as due to a local law about localisation of a computer interfaces law in Ukraine since 4th quarter of 2022 all cars imported to Ukraine should have preinstalled Ukrainian language in their interface. But Seat hasn't. And they decided to remove Navigation, Android auto, Apple car Play and (together with Navigation) Blind Supot Assist on manufacturing step.. instead to translate interface ASAP! And now I can not buy a modern car, but should pay the same price for a like a ten y.o. car. And if an AA & AcP support can be added with software upgrades - BSD can not and need a special hardware, wiring and software modification (probably, if it will not recognize a new hardware)...

So, this thread will be relevant at least for Ukrainians. Will be happy to know more about installation in details. Thank you!

Blind spot /RCTA is 2 radars, brackets & new door cards (In the case of the Formentor/mk4 Leon). Then the wiring & software. Not a difficult retrofit

Full link can now be enabled on the Formentor/MK4 Leon with an official activation document 🙂

I'm on the way to install and configure. I've already bought the primary radar, need the slave one and the support piece for them.

Also have the cabling, easy to find in Ali, not expensive.

The doors already have the lights, it's an Xcellence from November 2020 with ACC, so, only need the rear radars and cabling.

If I replace the steering wheel with one that has the travel assist, I would also enable it, as the components are the same.

The door cards are different for cars with and without blind spot assist, the lights will not be installed. You'll have to install them
