Installing new Speakers to Seat Ibiza

I currently own a 2012 Seat Ibiza FR, since purchasing the car I have noticed that the speaker quality isnt the greatest. I am hoping to install some new speakers in the fron and the rear doors of my car.
I was hoping to install Pioneer TS-G1732i 17cm 6.5" Inch 240 Watts 2 Way Coaxial speakers
In the front and rear doors of the car. I wasn't sure what adaptors I would need and even if it is possible to install them as they are coaxial speakers. I was just wondering if someone could help me out and tell me if this is achievable and if so what adaptors would I need.

You'd be better with components up front (mid & tweeters). Coax (those Pioneers you've pointed out) would be fine in the rear.

Although, I don't feel the work involved in accessing the stock speakers would be worthwhile, to just stick those Pioneers in.

In my opinion, a better headunit with stock speakers would probably be a better option. I just fitted a Pioneer SPH-DA120 with a view to upgrading the speakers, however, I'm impressed by the standard speakers (post headunit install) and the work to get at the standard speakers has put me off.

Thanks for your help. So if I were to buy the SPH-DA120 to install it is it simply a case of removing the old head unit and plugging the new one in or will I need a bracket to fit the new one?

Simple? Well, that depends on which stereo you have.

If you have the Hazards already down by the gear stick, then as far as I'm aware, it's almost plug and play.

I'd really consider sound deadening the doors before looking to upgrade your speakers or head unit. Car doors are horrible in terms of acoustics as they allow a lot of negative sound from the back of the speakers back into the car through the service holes, especially base tones. Swanky audio hardware won't help that much if the speaker foundations and acoustic environment are poor.

You can pick up a car deadening kit for about £30 odd and it will make a tremendous difference to the sound quality. I've done this myself on my Swift Sport and it's one of the best mods I've ever done, even though it took me a whole day to do it properly. Some other perks from this are less road noise and the doors now close with a very Germanic 'thunk' now too. Well worth thinking about anyway.

Definitely agree with the above, and applying deadening material is usually the first thing I do to any vehicle I own. This was the plan with the Ibiza until I read about how much of a PITA it is to remove the door cards, as a result, I just have the bonnet and boot deadened (to date). Maybe I'll grow a pair and attack the doors one day, but as its her car, she's happy and I'm happy.

With that said, the speakers do sound infinitely better with a new headunit. Deadened or not.

I've found the cheaper material (Ultimat etc) to be less adhesive than the Dynamat Xtreme or Silent Coat, and after a few days of warm weather/few hundred miles, I have often found the cheaper stuff in a pile at the bottom of the door card/boot/whereever it is applied.

I guess the point here, is that there's better (and easier) ways to improve the sound than simply throwing more speakers in.

Hi am looking to upgrade my door speakers in my 2010 Ibiza Cupra. The eBay seller am looking to buy some jvc speakers off says that there could be 3 different type of connectors or bracket sizes I need. Do you have an idea before I have to fiddle on with my door panel?

Guys, would like to add rear speakers to Ibiza, can you help with door socket pinout please? Cant find anywhere. not sure whether I got wires for the speakers in the connector already or need to run them from headunit. Cheers guys

Me too....

Drivers side speaker is blown and needs replacing. Haven't found any documentation on how to access it.
