Is it possible to check/adjust the led headlight range with VCDS? Mine seems to be set so low and the cutoff so severe, that I just can't se far enough ahead to go faster than 40 mph. I'm sure the dealer will be happy to charge me to tell me they are at factory settings.

Suggest you tell your dealer it is incorrectly set up and get them to adjust.

The LEDs are suppose to be self levelling which is why you see them move at start-up. Least Ateca does. I'm sure the Arona the same. Sensors. Then there is suppose to be an adjustment on each headlight that people fiddle with, with marks on garage walls etc. I'd claim it as incorrectly set up at delivery and get a dealer to do it on their test equipment.

Just re-discovered this message! Did ask the dealer to check on service, but they came back with "within spec". Checked the beam against my garage at a range of about 3m and the driver side was approx 15cm lower than the passenger side. I wondered whether the self-levelling would take out any manual adjustment I add, but gave it a go. matched the 2 levels and added a bit more and tried on the road. Bit too high, so took it back down a bit, Night use is now back to the brilliance & range I was expecting from my experience of my first model. As to the dealer? i very much doubt they even looked at my request, let alone actually do anything about it.
