Well that's not a good start to my first Cupra ownership. I'd asked them to update the car to the latest software version before collecting the car and I've just been on the phone with them trying to explain what I mean.I've been told that it over the air updates to the latest version so I can do this when I get the car. I explained that the car needs updating to the latest base version of software and that it wouldn't update to this over the air so could they plug it in via the workshop and have the latest version installed. I've just been told it doesn't work like that and it's a bit like an apple device that just because there's a newer version of software out doesn't mean my car will need it (well that's wrong as well). I repeated can you please just plug it in and force update it to 1896, he said he'd see if it's possible.
I've not even got the car yet and I'm already dealing with incompetent garages.
Ask them to wager a free service on it.

I’d seen that. So it’s awaiting transport but I believe status 38 means ‘on ship’, so I reckon it’s awaiting transport to the dealer.
Oh right, well let us know how long yours is there waiting, which UK port did yours go to? Mine is on the United, so will be interesting to know how long it takes to be picked up by a transporter. (from Tyne)

I ordered my new V2 190 4-drive first week of February. The car is black with pan roof and electric tailgate as extras. I was given week 12 build date but it was built a little earlier. I've been advised it is en route now to the UK so I am tracking the United Spirit every couple of hours. Looking forward to getting the car. Having been a lurker on this forum since ordering the car, I just hope there are no infotainment/ACC gremlins when I get it as a lot of the technical jargon discussed on here baffles me to say the least.

What status code have they given you?
I rang seat customer services this morning and mentioned the confusion given that some info seems to suggest 30 means vehicle built (awaiting transport), 38 means on ship, 40 awaiting transport to dealer. The lady just said it’s status 40 and has left the factory. It’s either awaiting ship or on ship. Apparently the cars are only scanned off the ship so there’s a loss of information once it’s left the factory.
Yeah sounds about right, regarding loss of information, I'm assuming mine would be 38, all I know is that it's on the United Spirit boat, to Tyne, via sheerness. According to the dealer

Hello there, help me calm down please. I have ordered my Cupra Formentor in first week of September 2021. They said I will get it in March. It didn't happen.
In the mean time the date of delivery has been going crazy. Even July, which is almost a year since the order. And even that isn't guaranteed. I really don't know what to do but my car dealer told me to call him every week. I did it for 3 weeks in a row and I can't anymore because everytime I call him I hear so many different different dates and in the end it is always followed by 'but I can not guarantee anything'. And after my sarcastic comment at one point he got very offended. I really don't want to talk to anyone anymore I would preffer to understand the realistic situation. First it was the covid problem. Now it is Ukraine. Wor largest crisis, I understand that. But even in that situation a serious coppany should have some idea about what they can do, and what they can't do.
Now I come here and see that most of recent orders came in fairly quickly.
In the mean time the date of delivery has been going crazy. Even July, which is almost a year since the order. And even that isn't guaranteed. I really don't know what to do but my car dealer told me to call him every week. I did it for 3 weeks in a row and I can't anymore because everytime I call him I hear so many different different dates and in the end it is always followed by 'but I can not guarantee anything'. And after my sarcastic comment at one point he got very offended. I really don't want to talk to anyone anymore I would preffer to understand the realistic situation. First it was the covid problem. Have you checked whether any other dealers have a similar spec in stock? You might need to compromise on some things, but if you can find one in stock that you're happy with then you could always purchase that and cancel your order on the ground that they can't fulfill it as agreed.Hello there, help me calm down please. Did you get a massive discount?
Virtual pedal / beats audio for example are causing severe delays.
hybrid variants also big delays.
i have spoke to several dealers over the last few weeks; all had decent amount of incoming unallocated stock. No discount though as they can sell easily for full retail price.
Is anyone following United Spirit, as it was meant to stop at Sheerness early this morning, but it looks like it hasn't stopped and is heading out!!?

I have been. It looks to have tracked into Sheerness and out again this morning, although it was in and out far too quick to offload anything. It has been pissing about off the Kent coast all day since. Now saying ETA of later this evening to get to Sheerness.
Obviously waiting for a free berth from which to unload.....Ports suffering from staff shortages just like airports..

Just received a call from Arnold Clark today saying car arrived late last night ( 3 weeks to collect vehicle from Newcastle). Possibly collect next week. Formentor V2 1.5 TSI DSG, ordered 6/11/21.
Just ordered a Formentor V2 1.5 TSI DSG here in Cyprus a few days ago. Base price was €29,900. Added on metallic paint (€650), rearview camera (€300), and the 18 inch performance black sports rims (€500). Total price was €31,350, and I negotiated it down to €29,000. Estimated delivery is September. Curious as to what % people have been able to negotiate off the total price in different countries?
