New car buyer - Common faults?

Hi I'm new to the forum. :)

I'm looking at a 2012 Leon FR+ 2.0TDi tomorrow to possibly purchase.

What are the common faults to look for with these cars as I'm coming overfrom BMW so haven't a clue?

The cars done over 100k so how often do cambelt and water pumps need changing?

75K or 5 years on the Cambelt, waterpump is like any other, not the first cambelt change but usually the second.

Common faults is the same for most Mk5/6 platform stuff, nothing massive or silly to be fair.

Just checked the car out and had a few things, nothing major. Very fast compared to my BMW!

1. Bonnet lining was soaking wet and sagging. Read the post on it but no pictures loading? Anyone else got a solution or video on how to fix it?
2. Fog light full of water 0 easy fix
3. Lights condensation - any fix?

The pictures went a while ago for the bonnet lining fix, you've gotta read the text and get the jist of it from there.
If you can do it yourself and take new pictures, that'd be great.

I recommend following the guide by timsawf for the bonnet strip I followed it (no pics) but I had to slightly change the sizes of the strips as I couldn't easily get his sizes ill try to find the post and add it on here.
Lights condensation I'd ignore as many lights on many cars have it unless it's really bad which clearly is an issue then. Fog light inspect and replace if necessary.

And a bonus the links are still live, still to this day my engine has been bone dry and I've been running no engine cover for months and months periodically checking to ensure no water came in (which will corrode cylinder 4 coil if no engine cover)

I had mine sealed by a seat dealer. Think they silicone the holes under the plastic. I know that when I open my bonnet some water does run out but I think it fixed it compared to what it was before. I don't have lining so can't say 100% for sure. Common issue for me though is door locks. I am about to replace my third driver one and have had to also replace rear drivers and front passengers one aswell in the 10 years I have had the car.

It might be the door locks are just cemented because the lubricant went dry. There is a hack how to fix those while in place without buying new ones or getting them out. If that is indeed what has happened to them.

Yeah I have been using that hack and has worked for last 6 months but even that isn't working now.
