Can anyone throw some light on some weird car behavior?
My 2014 Leon FR 1.4 ACT is having issues with throttle response - it sometimes responds a full second or so after the throttle is pressed, regardless of what drive mode it is in.
If I select a different drive mode this often 'cures' it temporarily - I start getting immediate throttle responses. However, during the course of a hour long journey (and without changing the drive mode) the throttle response slowly drops-off back to sluggish responses. Selecting the same drive mode again makes no difference (e.g. Sport > Sport) only switching to a different mode (e.g. Sport > Standard) improves things
I can't figure what's going on. It's as if changing the drive mode refreshes some part of the engine management, which slowly become erroneous again over time.
OBD11 throws up no errors. I've tried both the direct-throttle mod and the Audi throttle mod, neither of which have made a difference to this issue. The only thing I've noticed is that OBD11 says I am not running the very latest version of the engine management software, but SEAT haven't updated that when it's been in to the dealer.
Has anyone had similar issues? Any further suggestions welcome!
Experience tells me if I walk into a SEAT dealer and attempt to explain they'll charge me a £70 diagnostic fee, declare there's nothing wrong, pat me on the head and tell me I don't understand how drive modes work >:|
I could try asking them to update the software to see if that cures it, but I don't know if they'll do that purely on request.
