Battery Errors

So yesterday on 2 separate occasions 2 different faults showed up on the dash (see pics attached).

After turning the engine off and on the faults disappeared. Has anyone else had this?

Quite often when I start the engine I get a fault ping up, sometimes about a park error or a distance error - but it generally goes too quickly to read and doesn’t stick around.

As it’s a brand new car I’m wondering if it’s just a few computer gremlins rather than issues with the battery already?!

In case it helps anyone….

Called out SEAT assist to diagnose the errors on the dash. The technician said there is an ‘outstanding campaign’ on the car to change software on 3 of the control units.

Basically similar to a recall, but not for safety reasons. So I have booked it in with SEAT to get it all updated.

Just thought I would update the thread in case anyone experiences similar.

Ever get the feeling your car is getting waaaay too complicated..

This smacks of the "smart battery" system i had on my mazda, all it did was flatten the battery until i removed one wire from the battery and all the problems went away

So to update this further again. A few weeks ago I had even more battery error messages which resulted in my brand new car being flat bedded by the AA to the dealership!!

It was there a few days undergoing diagnostics, and they eventually said there was a wire loose going to the battery - which I’m extremely sceptical about.

Today I have again had the 12v error (first pic in original post). It happened after my partner was sat in the car with the radio on and engine off for 30-60mins. Just wondering if anyone else gets the first error and if it is normal if using battery related things without the engine on?

Ok thanks, so not necessarily back to the first load of battery issues. Will keep an eye on it.

I also had errors this morning to do with seat belts, I’m close to handing the car back - had a guts full of it.

Have you tried charging the 12V battery with proper battery charger (i.e. - do a deep cycle)? The car itself sometimes cannot keep up with charging the battery after you have depleted it by listening to radio, etc.

Excuse my ignorance, but how do you go about doing that?

I haven’t had any issues the last few days so I think it was literally just because my partner was using things in the car without the engine on - but it wouldn’t harm knowing how to give the 12v a charge now and again as I mostly do short journeys these days.

Mine had the 48V battery replaced and that seemed to solve it.

Hi all. Just resurrecting this thread - very similar issue to the original poster. Leon PHEV here - 12V battery low (the warning came up the day after the car was serviced). My question: how exactly to charge the 12V battery with a CTEK or similar battery charger (deep cycle). Just slightly worried that the process might be slightly different than a regular or mild hybrid vehicle. The owners manual isn't exactly clear on this either so if someone on here knows exactly what to do, that would be aweome

I know when I opened my bonnet to do the same I swiftly closed it again when I realised the battery had some very strange connections on it and the engine didn't quite look like I was expecting!

Correct me if I'm wrong but in the PHEV the 12V battery is in the back under the boot floor and a series of screws to remove the cover, rather than under the bonnet. I've still not removed the cover to attempt to charge the 12V battery with my CTEK but if anyone's done this and is happy to provide a simple guide as to how to do it that would be awesome.
