What's the point of that? Surely Cupra as the brand and UK head office with contact to the factory will be in a better position than the dealer to give out information about builds and progress. I haven't heard from my dealer since I asked for my SLI number after ordering, so I would guess if I asked him for progress I'd likely have the car before a response. As Cupra always tell me to check back with them at a certain time as "that's what we're here for", I will be continuing to pester Cupra directly as surely that is what customer services is there for.
I found customer services to be polite and business like but totally useless. They just read the status off their screen. I got better info from my dealer.

Yeah, all the advisors I have spoken to have been polite, but as you say it's as if they just type in the SLI and read what it tells them. However, would've thought that the dealer would do just the exact same thing, or even just be doing what I am doing by contacting Cupra Customer Service for an update.

I have actually just spoken to Cupra about my car and it is still showing as in production, so when I asked "is it built and awaiting chips?", I was told "yes". I was advised to try them again next week for an update, with no mention of contacting my dealer, so will get back on to them next week, although may give my dealer an e-mail as well just to see if he has any more information.

What time is the ship leaving from Barcelona, as they are still saying my car is on the way from the factory.

Just spoke to SEAT CUSTOMER SERVICE , car is built waiting to be allocated a ship. This has been like this for 3 weeks on Thursday, however it will not be on the ship leaving today.

I only subscribe to the free version of marine traffic, so I don't know when it will leave port. I see that it won't be on today's ship anyway. Fingers crossed it's on one soon.

Probably see more cancellations but this is the same all over, so it seems the consumer will be stuffed. I wouldn’t advise anyone to buy a used car due to the inflated prices but some will. I know I was lucky but if the right spec wasn’t available I’d be happy to wait.
I bought a 2018 BMW 1-Series Shadow Edition with 8000 miles on the clock for £19,000 in Nov 2019.

I was curious to try and sell it and pay off the remaining PCP before the shortage and was offered £14,000!! The car now has 31500 miles on the clock, pretty much showroom condition and I am getting offers of £16500 to £17000 now! I take these with a pinch of salt but if I can pay off my PCP and downgrade the car for a few months, it'll save some money before the Formentor arrives in 2024.

No I found my dealer delved into the system to find more info. They told me the car was loaded onto the ship, CS had told me it was still at status 30, meaning it was complete but awaiting transportation. I chatted to CS numerous times and was given the same status from the outset.

I have been told today that the next ship (whichever one it is?) will be leaving Spain on the 13th October. Mine is at port ready to be loaded, but they cannot confirm which cars will be loaded until 13th, when the system updates. I have been advised to contact them again on the 14th, when they will be able to confirm if mine was indeed loaded onto that ship. Fingers crossed.

I don’t know if it’s true but I got told that it’s better to enquire towards the end of the week as the system only updates once a week?

Looks like there are currently three vehicle transport ships docked in Barcelona, Aquarius Ace; Tranquil Ace and Lake Taupo. Wonder if any of these will be collecting some of our cars??
You would hope that at least one would be headed for these shores, even if only via the scenic route where they stop off at several other ports before they arrive in the UK.

Aquarius Ace is still docked in Barcelona and Lake Taupo is en route to Tunisia at the moment, but Tranquil Ace is on the way to Rotterdam, a frequent stopping off point for UK bound ships.

Tranquil Ace only docked in Barcelona yesterday. Is that enough time for it to have loaded up with cars and set off again?

They can unload and load again in a matter of hours. Sometimes there have been 5 or 6 stops before they get to the UK, followed by stops at Sheerness, Grimsby and Port of Tyne. All in a matter of 10 days.
