Fitted a vinyl strip today which went surprisingly well considering I'm not particularly gifted in the DIY department 😂.

Looks good I think but will have to wait and see how it holds up to dog claws and luggage scrapes...

Nice. What boot mat you got there and would it fit a mk3 st?
The Novline one for the ST is excellent too, and cheaper than the Seat version;

@Three Leons where did you get the vinyl? Was it already precut?

Yeah it was precut, think it was this one:

You can get different colours including clear I think, but my inner boy racer couldn't resist the carbon fibre look 😂

We got this one for the dog, looks proper tidy black on black (it's a couple mm thick / won't scratch through) https://www.travall.co.uk/seat/leon-st-2017--/travallr-protector-tbp1170p

EDIT: Nice work on the DIY job though!
Thanks.

Yeah I looked at the Travall one and may go for it if the vinyl doesn't hold up. Does it not scuff or mark at all?

Then again, even if I replace the vinyl every few months I could do that 3-4 times and it'll still be cheaper! (Could try out the clear and black options too).

Our car has a clear one on in. Worth having as my wife knocks the hell out of it! Uses the car for work and lots of bags and cases in and out. Didn't have one on the last car and the top of the bumper got scuffed up. Takes the look off it.

Yep, always the wife (definitely wasn't me that let a paving slab slip while taking it out the boot of my last car 😬🤦🏼‍♂️).

I think it's inevitable, especially with kids or dogs. Even though the protector itself might get scuffed and scratched it's still better knowing it's not the paint work that's damaged 😂

OK so maybe it does scratch, but they mostly disappear once you put some dashboard cleaner on it.

So quick update for anyone that's interested - this is how it looks three months in with the puppy in and out of the boot a couple of times a week.

Clearly some scratches but no deep ones. Haven't tried buffing them out yet but I can live with this so not too fussed.

Pretty good value for a tenner or so!
