Think we all need to take a step back and calm down guys. Lets keep the chat friendly from here on.
I think the point Agnes was making (and correct me if I’m wrong @Agnes.Surrey ) is that in the context of your initial post above, to just stick the monthly on here without mention of deposit or term or mileage or VAT, makes it difficult to fully evaluate your “deal” as a bargain or not. Regardless of who pays the upfront, it influences your monthly payments, so does have relevance. The prices went up the day after I processed my order... probably the best decision I have made in a long time, my luck is normally awful haha. I dont think I have seen many VZ2 310's at £284 a month. It feels like a bargain now!

I think you probably know all of this already though.
I went with a higher deposit as 1) I had the bonus and 2) my partner is currently unemployed and I am covering all the bills and mortgage, plus childcare etc... so I need to keep the monthly payments as low as possibleYes, that was my intention, since it's a thread about finance deals. Some people prefer higher upfront and lower monthlies, others minimal upfront and higher payments. So to judge the deal, we need all numbers or total cost over lease/PCP period and miles per annum.
Sorry, I just like numbers and analysing costs.
Great deal and no way will anyone get close to that currently. Nice work. Now if this was the original reply, I would have fully been on board! haha.
The deposit was £3000 which I still don't think is too bad!
I went with an initial 12 months (£3000) over 2 years with 10,000 miles and its £284 inc VAT (£9352 over 2 years for a £40k car, not too shabby!)
Wow that's pretty good. Anyone know if you're able to buy the car end of your lease? I know some do it...Still waiting for mine to be delivered (should be next month), but leasing still works out to be cheaper, especially when you have to add on road tax and mot to the cost of a 4y PCP.
Signed my lease in April for a 310 VZ2 in Magnetic Grey from Gateway2Lease
- 6 + 35
- £3,170 deposit
- £350pm
- 10k miles
- 6.98p excess miles
Think it depends on the broker and the dealer tbh. I've had the option to do it with a few of my cars in the past, but not all of them.Wow that's pretty good. Anyone know if you're able to buy the car end of your lease? I know some do it...
You must have intelligence issues pal
That's serious mileage.Got a V2 190ps in magnetic grey metallic, with spare wheel and safety and driving XL pack:
48 month PCP
30,000 per year
£5000 deposit
£447 per month
Im fairly happy with the deal we got considering the number of miles it has to do each year!
My partner uses it for work travel and they need 25,000 miles a year for that then 5,000 for personal travel. Safe to say we're excited its a bit of an upgrade from her driving a Ford FiestaThat's serious mileage.

Now that's a dealIt seems to me that costs in the UK are higher than over here in Germany. Whilst I did get a very good deal, mine was:
Magnetic Grey VZ3 with all options (except towbar)
15k kilometres per year
No deposit
€377 per month - 3 years.
I figured the costs from this would be less than what the depreciation would be after 3 years, so that's what sold it for me.
Ah sorry, to clarify, mine is a leasing deal - so perhaps that's what makes the difference. Having said that, I just specced up an identical car on the leasing comparison site we have here and the same spec is now well over 500 also - so sounds like your experience is mirrored here also.Germany sounds very cheap compared to the UK
My deal on the table is a fully loaded VZ3 Petrol Blue & all the extras except a Tow bar (no need for that).
PCP over 4 years
8000 miles. 8.4p per mile overage
£5000 deposit (cash + trade-in)
48 months @ £487
£18.5k final payment
I started looking at leasing when the Formentor was in the mid £300s, but then they have crept up through £400 and the best match for my deal above is over £520. So 99% sure I'm going for this deal.
Suggested delivery in November..
