Needing conformation on First Edition ambient lighting

Hey all,

So I'm in the process of buying an ex-demo first edition. Decided to check out some forums just to see what issues to look out for.

But now I'm confused.. In a thread someone mentioned their ambient lighting only comes on when the side or main lights are on. Is this also the case for the first edition?

The wrap around lights is a big selling point for me, and living in cloudy Scotland I'd imagine I'd see them on during the day aswell. So now abit concerned if they won't be on.

I hope someone can help!

The wraparound light is only on when the sidelights/headlights are on

On overcast days when the headlights are on, you can see the wraparound light it just doesn't stand out as much as night time

Ahhh I feared as much! I don't think it'll be a deal breaker since the ex-demo I've been offered is a bargain!

I might just consider turning on the side lights manually if I ever want to show off the lighting!

Fellow first edition owner here, I set the automatic headlights to come on ‘extra early’ and on a gloomy day they‘ll be on. I brought my car in July and was disappointed when I turned them on during the day in the demo car, they really are unnoticeable despite being impressively bright at night. The automatic lighting does do a great job, I’ve never been driving along and had to manually turn them or even thought to myself why aren’t they on yet.
