How old is the car? any warranty left? id get it recovered to SEAT or a VW specialist if you cant figure out whats up with it. Id check all the cabling coming from battery to starter motor.

turn the radio and lights off see if that makes a difference.

No breakdown cover, currently uninsured due to not working for nearly 2 months, iv already contacted seat Manchester directly, and had little joy and rude customer service 🥴 so wasn't planning on taking it there, I live close to a vw specialist so could possibly tow it to him but he's pretty much baffled himself.
Not a fan of Lookers Seat (Salford) if that's who you refer, I've used Pentagon Oldham and been very happy - so far!

If it’s stop/start, then when fitting a new battery, it has to be one for stop start cars AND it has to be coded so the car recognises the battery. I’ve had to replace the battery on my Golf R and it had to be coded.

If it's not cranking and there are no error codes then it's likely to be mechanical, either in the starter motor, it's solenoid or the ignition relay. I'd guess the relay could have stuck open due to being unused for so long, but you need someone to identify it and try a swap or even just tapping it.

While most of that is correct, I would not expect it to be a show stopper, all that would be needed would be that the new battery was of sufficient CCA to be able to turn the motor over and fast enough, to start.

So update, spoke to electrician this morning hes now refusing to work on the car contacted another, hes also said he can't help, back on to vw specialist who is saying its definitely electrical not mechanical, iv give in and booked in with seat bolton, 1st March! Yes new battery was coded I believe and key was coded yesterday! Im not sure on brand was done at vw center

Is there anyway I can be checking and ruling out some things myself? Ignition relay? Wiring? I'm not expert but I'm sure i can check a few things

How would I check the fuel pumps?

Possibly give all the relay switches, those little coloured boxes inside the fusebox next to your the battery, a couple of sharp taps with the handle of a screwdriver (just a tap, don't smash them) and same with the solenoid that's attached to the start motor - but you might find the handle of a hammer or length of wood better for that one.

Also, just because you don't have breakdown cover, doesn't meet that the AA and RAC won't help you; you'll just have to tell them you've already broken down and pay for their call out fee for non-members as a one-off.

Their guys are used to seeing most faults and get most of them going, or will always get you home safely. Can't promise they will be able to fix this, but it would be my first thing to try if I couldn't fix something (and has been on a couple of occasions).
