Hopefully this should be a simple fix and they can adjust the bonnet and line it up better, i'd much rather have a slight issue like this than a crappy paint job that i'm complaining about.

Absolutely. Panel fit is fixable, just time consuming. You can do it yourself.

I'd find a dealer that has the same Cupra and ask if you can tape pics/measurements, etc, and let the bodyshop see them for comparison.

I don't see the need. It's so obviously wrong they are clearly at it or dumb as feck.

OP, If it helps, this is how it should look. Here's ours shortly after being delivered to the dealership. Your's clearly is not right, nor acceptably within tolerance

I dropped it off this morning so they could look at adjusting the bonnet, I told them it still wasn't good enough when they said it was sorted! It's going back next Friday but I stopped at the Cupra dealer on the way home and took a few pics so I could show the body shop next week.

Unlucky for them I'm finding more and more alignment issues now. I've also just popped the hood and there's something missing, I know nothing about engines but I'm guessing plenty of you guys do.

The intake shroud is missing, as is the battery cover maybe (although I think not all cars have the piece that covers the top of the battery)
Is it my eyes or is the coolant on the minimum also?

I don't think there was ever a cover on that battery so I'm not concerned about that. You're right about the coolant though, it is on minimum and I'm wondering if it was leaking at some point since they had to replace the radiator.

OK, if the rad was changed it could just be that it needs topped up now the everything has settled. But I'd deffo be keeping a careful eye on it just in case that's another job they bodged.?

Who paid for the repair? If it was the insurance company I’d be in touch with them about the poor work, I seem to remember that ins co’s pay many weeks after the job completion and they might intercede on your behalf?

Yes it was the insurance company. I'm back in on Wednesday so if it doesn't get resolved I'll get in touch with them.

God alive, as it was said above the easiest thing is for them to compare to another car! It's not rocket science. Sadly these things are only as good as the person doing the job and their knowlege and skill.

This reminds me of when I had a Golf and they did some work at VW main dealer Bodyshop. I was telling them how to paint the darn thing, on top of that they couldn't get the position right with the badges on the tailgate (it had a new one) I was out in the car park showing them as they were saying there is no factory spec or dimentions given to work to. As I turn around and counted about 15 other Golfs in the car part around us!!!!
Then I handed them a print out of the dimentions which should be in their body repair manual from an online source, and they were more worried about copyright of where I found it online. They lost a customer from that point onwards.
