Rear Brake Disc

MOT next week. Just had a look around. Think I got probs with rear brakes. See attached pic of drivers side. Other side similar but not as bad.
How much do you reckon thats going to cost me at an independent. Any idea on cause. 1.4 FR 66 plate 22k miles

Mine were like that when I got it. I suspect the original owner hadn't been using the handbrake because the lever mechanisms on the calipers were seized and barely worked. I started using the hand brake properly and they work perfectly now and I've replaced the discs and pads and the discs are wearing normally now.

Why take it to a "indipendent" just get pads and disks and do it yourself

How the hell did you stop with discs like that. Surely you must of noticed before now, or do you never check the car at least weekly for issues?

Mine were the same when I bought my car. I've replaced discs and pads since but it braked fine anyway. Most of a cars braking is done with the fronts, the rears help stop the car diving as much as it would naturally try to.

This. If the car doesn't do a lot of miles or only does light, short trips the rear brakes aren't used hard enough to keep the disks clean. Being lumps of cast iron, they just rust to bits. A friend of my wife had to replace all the brakes on her Mazda 6 when it had only done about 10K miles because it hardly got used.
