How's the car driving mike ? Any positives/negatives to report and how's the mpg ?
Been watching many road tests as to which engine to purchase as as my driving has now changed to over 90% in town I reckon the 95bhp will be fine.i do the occasional Cornwall trip and a regular London trip at weekends but everything else is all town work. The 115bhp seems to have (obviously) slightly better acceleration at top end of revs but I'm looking at mpg these days more than outright performance. My current Astra isn't the best on fuel..not a patch on my previous mk3 Leon 1.2tsi 110. Oh well we all make mistakes!

The car has been performing excellently, fuel consumption is getting better as it breaks in a bit. I'm now over 1000 miles and it will do around 50-55mpg on the motorway easily now. With a mix of driving I'm getting roughly 44-45mpg per tank at the moment.

I should note that I've been using super unleaded as the car is direct injection and I want to keep it as clean as possible for the long term.

As for the engine choice don't forget with the 95 you get the 5 speed gearbox rather than the 6 speed in the 115. Though, it must be said that I've found that in 5th gear on the motorway, the car sits at a leisurely 2500rpm and is very refined. The only thing I think I'm missing with a six speed are the shorter ratios for spirited driving. Overall, this hasn't made me regret my decision as spirited driving is still rewarding due to the fantastic little engine note.

As for problems, the only problem I've noticed currently is a little wire jammed between the cowling of the steering column but I'll see if this can be rectified when it has its first service.

Having driven many different 1.2 & 1.0 SEATS & SKODAS, I can tell you the 1.2/105 is by far the best of the bunch for me, but of the current 1.0 triples the 95 is the best balance of power and torque, and as a result is much more pleasant on B & C roads than the 110/115 models.

Agree with Shell V-power adding about 6% economy, but it always seemed to cost about 8-9 % more, so it wasn't financially worthwhile for me full-time.

Oddly I found with my old S3 that Super Unleaded Esso gave a smoother engine too. There’s no Esso near me now though so it’s either Texaco Supreme, Tesco Momentum or BP Super.

I've been hitting mid to high 50s with my 30-mile motorway commute lately. With traffic etc I normally end up on the ACC at 70ish, and this tank is at 55mpg according to the car, using Tesco regular fuel. I have the 115PS engine with the 6-speed.

Having test-driven the 95, I wouldn't say there's a huge difference, but there is a bit of extra peppiness to the 115. Either version will be enough power and will be efficient. Keep the turbo on the boil and a B road can be great fun. The old 1.2 was a bit easier to keep the turbo spinning, at least the 90 in my old Fabia was.

That’s great mpg, sadly I’m not commuting at the moment so mine is just used for the occasional local trip and visiting the in-laws 45 miles away.

I live in Salford and work in Preston, so it's straight out up the motorway for me. Being a key worker I've not stopped commuting! Very little stop/start driving, which is why it's so good. When I'm running errands around town of course it's much lower. I'm getting better mpg than my Fabia on the motorway, and about the same in town.

I purchased my seat ibiza FR 115 last month, great car bit dissapointed it didn't have a armrest or parking sensors. However the garage where I bought the car from said they didn't have a spare key so would get me one and code it and if I wanted an armrest they'd do it at the same time but Id have had to pay obviously. After driving it a few weeks ive found I am really missing the rear parking sensors which I had on my old car, so they are fitting rear sensors instead of the armrest.

Perhaps get the armrest done next year when I have my service, once I've saved up a little.

Might be worth a search and a call, see if they can do it cheaper than your dealer. Apparently it's super easy to fit. Mine came factory fitted but I fitted the one to my Fabia and it wasn't too difficult.

But in the end i decided to go for the rear sensors for now as I miss these more from my old car, not sure I really use the armrest tbh.

Its not something I really used in my last car but yes, thats what I thought, its so easy to accidently back in to something and id have wished i'd got them fitted. Do the rear sensors look professionally done by the dealer and do you get a indication (not camera) on the touchscreen or just sound?

Yeah mine look spot on to me, and yes it’s just the sound. To be honest I thought I’d miss the visual on the screen but it’s been fine.

I am sure someone's said that the factory rear sensors don't come up on the screen anyway- it's only cars with front and rear that have the screen display.

You can activate the rear sensors on the touchscreen via OBD11 or Carista. Very easy to do.

Just watched a youtube video, apparently you need to buy a plug thing to connect to car, where is this connection and can it damage anything? ECU e.g? How can this make the sensors come up on the screen also and have you done it?

You plug it into the on-board diagnostics (OBD) port under the dash. It allows you to see what hidden options are available on the car, like the rear sensors on screen & sports dash display if you’ve got the digital dash. It doesn’t affect the car & all changes can be un-done easily, you’ve just got to know what you’re doing.
I have indeed activated the rear sensors on the centre screen & the digital sports display, well worth doing, makes the car that little bit more unique. If you’re near someone with OBD11 or Carista they may offer to do it for you, always worth an ask!

I may buy one, I looked into this abit last night, do I have to do the coding or is it done for me regarding the rear sensors on the digital dash. My only other query, is how does the screen know how close I am, is this connected to the sensors in someway, these are aftermarket sensors?
