I have a seemingly impossible problem to solve...

My car is a 2010 face-lift mk2 Cupra 1P.

The centre console (where traction control button / power outlet etc are near handbrake) is looking really shoddy where the paint has just peeled in many places, the cover for the power outlet has come away etc.

It really lets my otherwise perfect car down. Does anyone know where I can buy the correct parts from to solve the problem? I can't seem to find anything, nor can I find any videos online of anyone fixing the issue.

Can anyone help?

Post in the Listers section of the forums (with your reg) and I'm sure they'll get you a price. You after the whole console? Or just the buttons / surround (if you scroll down this page a bit, I prised the center panel out and just replaced the worn buttons)?

I emailed Andrew Westwood at Listers yesterday. No reply.... it's clearly too difficult a part for them to find. So yep, impossible problem.

Has anyone else had this issue? Have you repainted part? There must be someone.

Unless it's a special Cupra thing I don't think the centre console is painted? It's certainly not on my 2010 FR. Are you sure it's not been painted by a previous owner?

Listers can take a little while to get back to people sometimes. Speak to your local Seat dealer if you've having problems with Listers though. Last time I asked Listers for some prices they were unable (or unwilling) to quote any cheaper than my local dealer's parts manager would anyway.

Parts like that are easy enough to find on their system with the VRM or VIN.

The black coat of whatever lines the plastic part is peeling. Can only be some sort of paint. Shocking build quality on that part. Definitely original as it includes pictures for things like heated mirrors etc. I'll try and get a photo up later.

Did you ever get this sorted? Mine wasn't too bad condition wise but wanted to paint it to match other interior mods. The paint actually made the original coating fall off leaving me with a white bit of plastic. This was easier to paint but retaining the symbols for the mirrors etc was tricky. I ended up using photos of these and carved them in to the paint so they still lit up
