Too much attention?

The car i have now is my 2nd Leon. My 1st one a Black 04 plate Cupra tdi.
The one i have now is an 04 silver/grey Cupra R.
I never had any bother in 5 years of owning it.

This car seems to attract a lot of negativity.

Last week i was picked on by an S3.
Also a goon in a Zafira GSI.

Sunday i was sat at lights. A lad in a tinted A3 was sat in front of me just staring throug his door mirror.. No smiles or thumbs up, just staring.

Then after work i pull up in the petrol station.
Another S3 at the pump im waiting for. Spots me as he goes back to his car. Takes off like he stole it.
Im stood there filling up. Young woman pulls up in an Impreza hatchback.
Sits there reving up with her lairy exhaust while she waits.

Ist it normal that everyone wants to race you lol?

Not feeling intimidated by it as im a bit old for all that.

Juts wondering if this is normal for the modern boy/girl racer?
Always easy to give attitude in a 30 zone.

They just jealous because I still it’s the best looking car of it’s age!

I had the same with a yob in a LCR, pulled up next to me - mine is a TDI with no badges - and he looks her full over. Spots the Porsche calipers on the front and proceeds to rev constantly. He takes off and I do the right thing..........pass him by as he’s stuck behind a Nissan mice’s

I used to get that a lot when I had the old exhaust on ie could tell not std but I get it less now I have changed it to a more std looking tail pipes

Everyone ignored my FR+. People would wow over a Fiesta Ecoboost... not one person took a second look at mine (which was fortunate in some of the car parks I had to leave it). But the police loved it. Got pulled over 6 times in a year. Once for "excessive acceleration" - even though I didn't actually break the speed limit.

Yes!
I’ve noticed this more and more.
I’m 40, couldn’t care less who’s at the side of me or wherever. I drive how I want to drive which is normally boring and steady to be honest.
In my V70 R design no one bothers, (maybe it gets mistaken for a police car) lol
Leon everyone seems to want to race.
It’s starting to happen every time I go out in it.
Absolute tools, all of them. Young kids ragging the arse of their lease cars.
And don’t get me started on the electric car gang.
Yes your Tesla’s are quick off the mark,
Are you one day going to kill someone cause you’re up to 40 mph before you’re even through the lights as someone’s just set off walking across the other side and doesn’t know you’ve set off? Yes!
Some of us have our LCR’s cause we like the look of them and love the way they drive, not cause we want to race everyone.

Don't know whether or not to feel disappointed this isn't happening to me. Only time I've had anyone show any interest, it was a C63 AMG, and that was never going to end well.

Now I've debadged and taken the TDI badge off, so knows what might happen...

I have to admit I don't get any attention like this in my lcr I get people commenting on how nice it is then one who wanted.to know a bit too much about the car lol, but generally no boy racers I think its down to they either no what it is or they simply think its an old farts car that puffs dust rather then goes anywhere fast.

No attention until my exhaust went on and then everybody wants a piece. Cant say i dont like it though, its all in good fun. Sometimes i bite and give it some as long as its not off the lights/launching.

haha i just hate clutchy launches they make me cringe hard. More often than not around my area if you pass someone and they hear you coming they'll plant the foot, and in that case...well its rude not to do the same lol.

Car does look a little “racy” I guess.
It makes me drive even slower than normal as I hate cars pushing me down the road.
Especially under powered cars.
If you pull away. When they catch up in traffic suddenly they are Schumacher st his best. Climbing all over the rear bumper.
What’s that all about?
On open roads it’s the same
Glad I don’t use it on road that much at present.

Reminds me of how much I liked the Civic Type R from the same era.

If I could get the Cupra R front bumper on mine (I've got the FR) I don't think I'd ever want for another car.

Yes the bumper is what really attracted me when I first saw the R
