Where to remap LCR 225?

Hi guys,

Been doing some reading and thought I'd finally do a post of my own as I can't seem to decide. I've recently become an owner of a LCR 225 and jumped straight into the modding side of things as you do with these fantastic cars. I've done a cone air filter, badger 5 oversized tip, forge dv and full 3" Cobra decat exhaust system, so I'm hoping to basically go straight to "stage 2" (no fmic so not fully stage 2).

So, I just wanted to get people's opinions on AMD Tuning and Devil Developments. I'm based in N London, so AMD are much closer to me than Devil (& better priced). However, some people don't seem to recommend AMD and say their maps are too aggressive/chase figures. On the other hand, I've heard nothing but praise for Ben at Devil.

So really I just wanted to gather opinions, would it be worth making the extra 2 hour journey and more expensive ECU tune at Devil? Or are AMD more than capable? Any other companies people highly recommend?

Yep, the instant one sided response on facebook has made a very strong argument for Devils and pretty much wrapped it up, thereby making this post a bit pointless .

I guess the one question I still had was whether it would be worth doing the FMIC before going straight to stage 2? I'm not keen on spending another £400-500 however, but I've heard of this "wellycooler" setup which is cheaper? I might do a post on that.

In all honesty I'd choose to install any planned mods prior to custom remapping, in particular the upgrading of the standard twin side mount intercoolers (which are notoriously shite) will make a significant difference in sustainable power due to the huge drop in intake air temps.

I know it's another large outlay in costs but if you want the best from it and dont want to be revisiting any time soon I'd do the the FMIC before anything else.

Look out on the breakers pages as I’ve seen 2 forge FMIC go through around the £200 mark.

I’d drive as far as you need buddy.
I drive from Heathrow to Badger5 for all my mapping.
Just try not to go mad on the way back home.
As for a FMIC as Thai said it stops the heat soak building.
And the heat kills the power.
Ben at Devil is the man to speak to when you call.
Or Bill at Badger5 is the other I’d suggest.
