DPF/TEMP Sensor Issue

Hello,

I have an Ibiza 1.2TDI which has recently just had a few new error codes while driving. I've recently got the flashing glow plug light as well as DPF light. I've also noticed the EML light being in the system due to P2185 code which is a temp sensor however I've replaced the sensor and cleared the code however the code still remains.

I was wondering which temp sensor is faulty as the error code shows P2185 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor #2 Circuit High Input to be faulty and I replaced the sensor on the right side of the engine, still confused whether there's another sensor or I'm missing something?!?

DPF issue seems to be related to the temp sensor, planning on doing a forced regen using VCDS later this week once I've removed the sensor issue.

Any help will be appreciated :)

Hello there and welcome to the Forum.

If your Ibiza is the 3 cylinder 1.2 TDI with engine code CFWA
Then the coolant temperature switch is one that fits into a plastic coolant housing, which I think is bolted to right side front of engine.

Coolant temperature switch sensor
Part number is 06A 919 501A

O-ring for above sensor
Part number N90 316 801

Plastic retaining clamp/clip
(slides into housing to secure above sensor)
Part number 032 121 142

I think the above coolant temperature switch sensor will flag up fault code P2185, but can also be related to other coolant temperature sensor, which is for your radiator fan, this other sensor screw's into your radiator, possibly on left side midway or lower down.
(left side when sitting in car)

Radiator fan coolant temperature switch
Part number 1J0 959 481A
Sensor nut size 29mm
Thread pitch 1.5mm

Or it could be a wiring fault between sensor/s and ECU, or be damaged/rusted contacts in the connector plug/s for the above sensors.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply!

Imma head out later today and have a look if i can find one near the radiator fan and see if that clears the codes.

Much Appreciated!
