IS38 max boost pressure

Afternoon. A tuner here in Sweden set his stage 1 tunes to max 1.55 bar (about 22.5 psi) for longevity reasons. Is there an issue with the IS38 turbo that I'm not aware of?

I've heard about potential issues if the turbine wheel isn't completely centered since it's so close to the housing (for maximum efficiency) but that could cause issues regardless of boost and it doesn't seem very common anyway.

Any thoughts on this?

The 1.55 bar max be down more to an out of range voltage for the boost sensor.
Didn't know IS38 cores had balance problems?

It was known the early 280 Cupras and same age Golf R's had a weaker turbo, since then they seem to be a whole lot more reliable though, enough so I wouldnt give it any thought to be honest!

The general consensus is about 30psi is the absolute limit for a stock is38, they also don't like carrying mega high boost to redline so it's best to taper it down, and trying to push more boost at that rev range goes beyond the turbos efficiency anyways so it's pointless!
