I was thinking about freshening up my keys with new key fob bodies. Genuine Seat/VW ones are expensive but there are cheap aftermarket ones on eBay. Anyone tried them?

I did buy aftermarket VW washer jets years ago and they were rubbish.

I just bought a Silver Metal Trim for the bottom instead of the Matte Black plastic you normally get and that made a huge difference without having to buy new fobs

The rubber buttons are looking a bit sad though, that's the part I want to replace. Also, we have three sets of identical keys in the house so I wanted to buy the Golf keys, which have the chrome end.

I just updated mine for my MK2 Leon, got them from a guy on facebook Custom Keyz. Really helpful guy especially when I mucked up my first key

Yes the just pull out the old one, don't need to disassemble the key fob.
