Just got off the phone with Nationwide and been told that my car now is due off the boat on the 11th November (it was originally due at the dealership on that exact date - suspicious). Apparantly because of reasons unknown to them seat are now only shipping to one port in the UK causing delays and the cars are now being taken to soem seat compound to be pdid (I thought the dealership did that).

I have an feeling the guy I was, speaking to had been given some wrong information because that all seems really unusual!

nationwide are a pain for updates, did you call before 5? You may have got sales if not

Yeah it was after 5, I think I might ring again tomorrow and see if I get a nicer answer! No ship is due on the 11th and the next few in are stopping at all the usual ports so they're definitely misinformed.

Hi all. Just a heads up that Joe Achilles has released his review of the Ateca Cupra.

There will also be a review of the Leon Cupra ST R with the ABT chip in a few weeks as he’s taking delivery of a UK Press car next week. Should be good to see what he makes of it.

Seriously?

You wonder sometimes where they get all this stuff from - like the guy who was told by his dealer that his new Ateca was waiting to be loaded on a boat in Barcelona for shipment to the UK. Which is a hell of a long way for a shortcut for a car built in the Skoda factory in Kvasiny

Hello all, if anyone's is looking to order / ordered a Cupra ST and don't fancy the wait time ... I have my Cupra Carbon for sale.

For those who don't know the Carbon is a late 2018 Limited Edition of just 45 units in the UK (listed as a Carbon Edition on V5) very similar in spec to the Cupra R too, buckets, brembos, digital cockpit, carbon skirts, diffuser and front spoiler albeit no copper detailing.

Any more info please see the for sale section of PM me directly

Tempting but out of price range. Paid £24k for ST Cupra with Pan roof, which is my price cap and should have 4 to 5 weeks left to wait for delivery now (although I think there’s a better chance of Brexit been sorted first before I get the car!!!!)

Just phoned nationwide for another update, the car is still due on the 4th, and they will need to complete a pdi. He did say however that there will be a very fast turnaround on the cars as they are getting 800 delivered and need to free up space in the compound. He expects delivery between Monday 11- Wednesday 13th

Well lets see, I have been holding off phoning Nationwide as it does not seem to speed things up! I was hoping there was a small chance of getting it by the 8th but assumed realistically that week of 11th was more likely. If it's after that I will lose the plot as I have already been without a car for a week now.

I asked for the 8th, he said he will know more on Tuesday afternoon. I’ve been without a car since October 18th. Getting there slowly but surely.

I've just got an email of Nationwide saying "Further to information from the dealer, your vehicle is estimated to arrive with our supplier on 11/11/2019. Please note that the revised due date is intended only as a guide"

So as expected the whole "Your car will be unloaded off a boat on the 11th" was just a load of fluff! Judging by others it looks like I should get it the week of the 18th, car is off to motorway next Friday so probably at least a week on the train - joy

I just know there are then going to be delays delivering the car to me, I can feel it in my bones!

Yeah it's YF so it's Leeds, to be honest if it's possible I'd be happy to go get it from the dealer myself but I don't think you can do that?

looks like we are all from the same dealer, what have you ordered? I think the delays are pretty much out the way now and it’s just getting them sent up from Grimsby. I too would love to get it myself from leeds, however I don’t think that is an option. Il definitely ask next Tuesday however.

Another email from Nationwide - they're busy today! My sales rep has got in contact with the dealer, it's definitely at the port and transport has been requested. Asked about collecting it myself and no that's not possible which is a shame!

Excitement is starting to set in now
