Had my car in for a thermostat housing leak at a dealership (should be a reasonable price as family friend works there)

“complementary” health check video shows need for front brake discs/pads.

I’ll see how much they quote me but what good after market options exist?

I know ferodo ds2500 seem to be a common option for front pads :)

(Stock brake set up for cupra 280 ?340mm)

Seriously?

As stated by cupra14, ask how many mm's left on discs/pads. It wouldn't be the first time a dealership has tried to get a customer to splash the cash on items that might have another 10,000 miles on them.

Maybe I’ll just leave it then and ask them to sort the pump today. Will sort in due course if required.

I haven’t noticed any squeaks or anything.

They’ve quoted me 375 for parts and fitting - what do you guys think about that?
I could get ferodo ds2500 and ebc disc for that unfitted.

I showed the video to my dad who’s a lot better at DIY mechanics (and also works for one of the major turbocharger companies). Said he thinks they are fine from the vid. I’ll just leave it and get a better look at home.

for future reference, what discs are decent? I know budget dependent so let’s say up to £250ish for the front

Clubsport S discs and DS2500 pads/
I was on the bbk path but got clubsport discs at great price and I must say those are pretty good brakes.
A lot more of thermal resistance comparing to stock discs.
