Golf r estate or cupra st advice pls

I know this is a seat forum so slightly biased, but the rear end of the Golf Estate is Fugly.
However standard spec of the Cupra is far better for example:
Dynamic Chassis Control
19” wheels
Sat Nav

Yes all but the 265 got DCC.
300 ST DSG’s are all 4drives.
And if you like the exhaust of the Golf R, a few people of fitted them anyway and they came as part of the Carbon Edition too as well as the ST R...
I think Golf R comes with active cruise control (ACC) as standard. Not a huge necessity on a performance model but if you do a lot of motorway driving it makes for very comfortable journeys especially when mated to a DSG box.
But yeah... Golf estate is nowhere as nice looking as the Cupra ST.

That I am unsure of , but I know we could buy the Cupra St 300 Dsg here without 4drive.
My apologies I sometimes forget this is an international site not just UK.
All UK ST 300 DSG’s are 4 drives which is where the original poster is based.
When the 300 facelift came out, Seat UK decided not to bring the ST 300 DSG FWD over, even though the UK press said it was the one to have out of the 3 option that Europe had.
Neither does Sweden. 4 w-d are all ST's. I would love a 3 door hatch back with 4 w-d but for some reason Seat don't think it's a good idea!!
I’d be happy if I could actually order another Cupra! Haven’t been able to do so since March.
I had the same dilemma as OP, but...
- Cupra ST looks amazingly better than the Golf R estate (the Golf rear is... boxy)
- The Cupra had many more toys standard than the Golf, so... better specs.
- I think (cannot say for sure) that the Cupra might be marginally more spacious than the Golf.
Yes, the Golf R does sound better, actually. MUCH better but... The Cupra is a head-turner and the Golf, even in R form is a bit "meh!"
I did shop for both and found way better deals for the Cupra - I got a fully loaded Cupra, almost new for less than I could find an entry level Golf R - the Golf had no DCC (pretty essential), no tech packs and no upgraded Sound system - get Seat Sound System over Beats Audio, since it is an overall better system.
