Hi all
Got in the car to go to work this morning and plugged my phone in the usb port as usual to start full link but nothing came up on my phone saying it was connected and ready for Android auto and it wasn't charging either (phone is a pixel 3). Reset Bluetooth on the phone because it's always been a bit naff and went into the settings menu on the MIB and noticed there wasn't an option for Bluetooth, pressed the physical phone button on the MIB to get to the phone menu but an error message saying "telephone is not available" came up. Bit odd so held the power button in on the MIB to reboot it but same issue occurred, so reset the whole unit back to factory settings but still no dice. Also noticed that when I press the Nav button it also says that navigation is currently unavailable.

Any ideas as to what's going on? I'm at work now so I'll leave the car parked a few minutes and go out and check to see if it's decided to work again, but if not any ideas as to what's gone on? Thanks.

Went back out to the car and it's still not working, phone button still produces "telephone not available" and Nav still produces "function not supported" any help would be appreciated massively

Tried with an iPhone but it's not just Android auto that's not working, it's the actual phone and nav functions that's built into the unit itself
I did read that you had problems with regular nav too. But just trying to verify whether it was the same problem - or could be different issues.
I wondered if the hot weather was causing some errors? I believe there have been some problems with these units with extreme temperatures - moreso in winter, but electrical devices don't like heat either...

No idea, it was all fine and dandy when I got home from work at 10 last night and when I got in the car at 9 this morning it was buggered, don't think the temperature got that much warmer between those times but you never know. The USB port doesn't even charge any phone you plug into it. I had full link activated at a seat dealership last Wednesday so I'm going back there to see what the story is, if not it's still under warranty from the Nissan dealership I bought it from but I'd be much happier an actual Seat dealership working on it.

do you have a code reader to see if car is telling you something is wrong.

have you seen any component protection messages

No error messages on fault reader out of the ordinary "16777022 - Function Restricted due to Interrupted Communications" and "03077 - manufacturer specific code" were the only ones for the electronics. Not had any messages about component protection either.

Update: let the car sit for 24 hours and still no dice, only seen one other forum where someone has had this problem but it's about as useful as a chocolate teapot. The only thing I can think to do is force an ecu reset through disconnecting the battery but I'd rather avoid doing that. Anyone else got any more ideas before I take it to the dealer on Monday?

What fault reader are you using, just in case it does not show all faults.

So the head unit is working have you gone into car settings and done a full software reset.

Any coding or hardware changes recently.

Do you have the SD Card sat nav, in which case have you removed it and replaced it.

Dont know the electrics as never had issues but have you checked to see if you have any blow fuses.

Used carista to check for the fault codes, used carista to change the theme of the MiB to carbon fibre but a few days earlier than when the fault occurred, no hardware changes.

I've got the SD card with the navigation data, it's still in slot 1 where it's always been.

Don't think it's a blown fuse as surely a fuse blowing would knock out the whole MIB system and not just disable a few functions?

Just doing all the things to try and knock it back into life.

Pull the sd card out and then back in again - just in case (Dont expect it will do anything but ????)

Fuse I agree but the sat nav is on a different part of the system according to the fule layout i have

10 Radio display 5
12 Radio 20

No idea what they do or if it makes a difference but worth a quick check.

I would also change the mib back to what it was before if you can - no reason it should cause an issue but its the first thing I do when new stuff happens.

Yeah I tried the SD card earlier but didn't seem to do much, it did come up on screen saying that SD card 1 contained the navigation data but navigation itself is still currently not supported apparently.

I'll have to check the fuses tomorrow given its dark out and it's still hammering it down.

Changed the MiB theme back to the previous settings and did a factory reset the whole lot the day the issue started so God knows.

The car's warranty from Seat themselves literally ran out on the 15th but I bought the car used with another 3 year warranty from a Nissan dealership so hopefully this could help coerce the dealer into fixing it.

Have you turned to Carista for support?

Yeah I've been emailing them back and forth since it happened, so far they've just told me to set the options back to what they were and do the power button hold to reboot trick both of which I've already done and no dice.

I've also had the battery off for an hour to see if it'd kick things back into life but that's not worked either, so unless oldboy is right and it's the fuses I've no idea, but as mentioned earlier surely if one fuse blew the whole infotainment would pack in and not just 2 functions. Interestingly enough they're both wireless communications, GPS and Bluetooth, so maybe it's just a cable that's come loose or something, hopefully it's nothing major.

Alright so went to the dealer on Monday and they diagnosed it as a faulty USB port. Replaced it for free under the warranty I apparently got when I had full link activated the other week. Bizarre how a usb port shuts off literally every other function on the MiB when it goes wrong but all is well now.
