What's the general consensus on the leather seats? Are they worth the money in general? I do like the memory function they have but my dealer does not have a car with leather seats at the dealership so hard to compare. The alcantara is quite good (with the electrical adjustment being quite cheap also) so I'm still kinda inbetween the two.
At 6"6 & 300 lbs the bucket seats are unfortunately not a realistic option

I know this isn't helpful but leather seats are a personal preference. Yes I like leather for the ease of use, easy to clean etc but if you are driving a performance car then non-leather may be a better option as you will need something more grippy. I currently have the alcantara and although they keep you in place they are still short of the full support that you would find in the Recaros in the lies of the Megane RS.

I was given it as an option and mine will definetly be a MY20 (built probably end of september) but the dealership lad originally convinced me out of it much for the same reasons as JSM said, it's not grippy enough for a performance car and quite pricy aswell.
Is there somewhere where I could find a full list of MY20 changes? I've only seen the press release format hovering around.

In the UK leather is not a option anymore only on the older my19.Its sports Seats for cupra and bucket for lux.

Not to say it’s not elsewhere but be mindful my dealer advised me that some of the older models were being branded 2020 but are my19 builds. It could be a my19 build with leather seats that’s been rebranded as My20.

In uk I was told the following from dealer in London
updates for My2020,

The updates and differences are as follows:

Cupra

  • Cupra 19” machined alloy wheels
  • Cupra drive profile
  • Convenience pack
  • Sports seats in microsuede (previously name Alcantara)
Cupra LUX

  • Heated Bucket seats in Microsuede
  • Adaptive cruise control (ACC)
  • Keyless entry and wireless phone charging
  • Safety pack ( tiredness recognition system)

If the leather in the Leon is anything like the leather VW use in the Golf, the leather in the Golf is not the best quality, and not all of it is leather - seat bolsters, seat backs, door cards and armrests are ‘pleather’ (pvc / vinyl). So you’re paying a lot for not much actual leather - only the bits that your butt and back make contact with are real leather. It can also get hot and sticky in hot weather and cold in the winter (until the heated seats warm up), and as others have said, it offers very little grip for a performance car.

If it’s still available on MY20 cars as an option, it’s not something I’d choose to have. Just my personal preference though and we all like different things.

Cheers for the input guys, atleast I know that taking standard alcantaras as of current moment, was not a mistake :).
