Exciting!! My delivery to dealer date has moved up to the 5th June from the 10th!

Got an 8 digit tracking number but I dont know how to track it, I cant find the site I need to use.
Kind of gutted mines gonna take so long... I ordered in April exact same colour, but only been given a build week in June...did you use nationwide? When did you order? Bet you are buzzing about the delivery date being moved tho!

Yeah Nationwide. Their timings seem odd, it may be worth giving them a call. It seems as though they got extra cars in early may that they didn't have before, and that's why some people have been given delivery dates in June. My original car was mystery blue with delivery being late July (estimated), but when I saw they had some in stock for June delivery I got them to change it to one of those in magnetic grey. I may now get the car before my original cars build date.

I was thinking the same thing. I’ve driven 200+ miles to the Lake District this week and didn’t see one - disappointingly! Did see a few golf R’s though.
I'm really ok with not seeing any, I've only ever seen one Copra on the road and I like that about it. Nice to have something slightly different for a change instead of my A4.

Saw my first 'Copra' other than mine in Northern Ireland! It was a Nevada White one.

Any other owners from NI on here?

This car is brutal! Had over run and a few pops already!
Just “nipped” to the shop and had it in beast mode.
Pottered around with the wife and baby earlier and could only get mid 20’s for mpg

I’m not one bit bothered though

I said don't brag!! Haha! Sounds awesome mate. Are you getting any decent sound when in full auto or just on "paddle-mode"?

I found Cupra mode aggressive as hell on the test drive, bit too aggressive for tootling around town. What are your thoughts on that?

I know, when i ordered at the end of march i was told expected delivery date would be end of June. It didnt bother me / i didnt think about much at first, as i knew i just had to wait. But since i was told it was built and it was in the uk i've become very inpatient now lol.

The theft stories have unsettled me a little, but i've had performance cars before and had no issues (EVO 9, E46 M3) but with having a lux with keyless entry etc i've took precautions and bought a faraday pouch for the keys and a milenco steering lock. Never felt the need for a steering lock before but i just want to play safe.

Roll on next week!!
It getting stolen is a major worry of mine I've got to admit. I live in an apartment which has a gated car park which are both to my benefit, but my space is literally in front of the gates so the first car you see. Never been a fan of a steering lock either and was always told they don't offer much security anyway, but I guess it's one extra deterrent so may well invest.

Always hated steering locks, the hassle etc. But videos like this and the current state of rising thefts made me think and give it a go.

I'll be going for one for sure. For the price, it makes total sense. There's nothing much else you can do to deter these scum bags. I guess if they want something so badly, they tend to get it anyway.

Only trouble there is, they were tooled up for keyless entry. And obviously needed a key for the steering lock. As in a few cases here recently, they've kicked the door in for the keys. So they'd have the steering lock key as well (assuming it's kept with the car keys).

You will never stop them kicking the door in for the keys. I've always said if they want it enough they will do whatever it takes to get the car.

In that case they can have the keys. It's not worth getting seriously injured or worse. Just have to hope in most cases it's too much of a deterrent and they walk away.

Hi

Just ordered a Cupra 290 on lease and told delivery date to dealers is 10th June can’t wait :)

I have the same concerns about theft as mine will be parked on front of a public road opposite the house. Can anyone recommend any good security cameras ? Everyone seems to be raving about smart wireless cams but if your internet goes down is my worry. Thinking of wired 1080p camera but heard to recognise faces need a 5mb camera
Appreciate any feedback

Also struggling to find any reviews of the 7 speed dsg 290 Cupra all the reviews seem to be a couple of years old on the 280. Looking to fill my time while waiting :)

Having these scum in your house looking for keys is vile, but having a young son makes it worse. It's always put me off a performance car for that reason. Nothing stops them in the end but you're right, if you put as many deterrents in their way, it might just put them off.

With regards to theft its all about slowing them down. I have already ordered a blank keyfob to go near the door, which they will assume is the real key and I will pull the fuel pump fuse each night, its a 30 second job and you just plead ignorance or say its got a problem if they get shirty. I also have a GPS tracker for it and a security camera, LED motion lights and the house has 2 deadlocked doors before you can gain entry, which both have their individual key left in them overnight so they cant pick the lock from the outside.

It helps to be observant. There is no allocated parking in my close, so the car could belong to anyone there. Any unusual cars or people following me into the close will get death stares and ill wait to enter my house until after they have gone.

Manual when in Cupra mode and yeah you’re right that you can’t drive around town in Cupra mode. It’s way too aggressive

To good to be true? Just had a call from the leasing company and there is 1 Magnetic Grey Cupra left in the UK and they have tried to claim it for me!

Potential delivery end of JUNE :coolthumb - Otherwise they said from new ETA is August from factory

(awaiting email confirmation......)
