I ordered the new leon cupra r st yesterday morning, getting the performance upgrade option as well. I was told I'm one of the first in the country to order one.

Really? I thought they'd have sold out quickly TBH. I'd probably have thiutho about buying one if I wasn't getting a 290 on lease. The performance upgrade is a no brainer IMO. Warranted 370hp for a grand lol

That’s an order I can’t wait to see materialise!

That is one sweet ride and a great choice. Are you buying or leasing? If the latter, what is the monthly coming out at and what is the contract term and annual mileage.

First impressions after driving back from DM Keith......
The car was clean, it was showing 8.1 miles on the clock
DM Keith only put £5 of fuel in the car, nearest petrol station is only 1 mile away
Shaz did spend plenty of time with me explaining all the infotainment and controls.
Couldn't detect a lot of difference between comfort and sport but in Cupra it goes like a Tasmanian devil on acid.
Love the digital cockpit, especially when you move the nav map between the rev counter and speedo.
DSG is nice n slick, especially in Cupra mode.
The jury is out on the artifical sound pumped through the speakers in cupra mode, only time will tell if I love or loath it.
The seat comfort/support is OK, not as good as my Giulia Veloce but did 70 miles without any aches.
I got Shaz to walk me to the boundary of their compound round the back, jeez, there must have been around 20 Cupras back there, most without plates and all the common colours, Grey, Black, White, Red n mystery Blue. Can't verify if any of them were the Lux version as Shaz was keen to keep them out of view, from the public.

Got an email from LO that mine is in stock now meaning that it's probably sitting in that compound lol. Got a Grey Lux

Don't do it to yourself!:clown:
I can't for the life of me understand why they are producing the R ST in such low numbers. There's obviously a demand in certain markets, the UK in particular and I would say SEAT don't need a low-run halo model as this in theory would fall under the umbrella of the Golf R. I really hope the SEAT bosses take note and open up the production quota. Perhaps it's their VW masters who are keeping a lid on it and is intended as a Swan song before the new model comes out. Perhaps I'm not seeing some clever marketing ploy.......

I would agree that it doesn't make sense, but also it may be a way to ramp up demand for the Leon before the incoming MK4? I can imagine the sales line - "Oh no sir not that one sir, all gone sir..have you thought about the Leon FR or Cupra which we can still order?"

Also, i would think due to the separation of Cupra from SEAT, they may start saving these devil machines for the hardcore branding. As Cupra is meant to be the more ferocious problem child that they've let loose?
Still, speculation but would be nice to buy the ABT tune on a pay and drive away basis on existing Cupra models :drive1:

Call me crazy but despite having 12 months left on our Arona lease I couldn't ignore the LO hotukdeal so yesterday ordered a standard Cupra in Mag Grey on a 3 + 23 lease for 6k miles, fully maintained, with £751.80 down and £250.60pm inc VAT with no fees.

I hadn't thought about adding maintenace before as we do such low miles, but for that reason it was only £17pm extra.
So with possibly 2 services to pay for and not having to worry about tyres on a 290bhp car with fwd (..or how I drive it..:cheeky:), it was a no brainer really.

The only extra to worry about is early termination fees on the Arona but as LO confirmed the Cupra delivery (and hopefully registration..) could be held back till Sept. So looking at maybe 55% of 6 x £98pm, which is near enough equivalent of a second service that we'll definitely be avoiding now. I'll be one of the few on here not chasing LO for earlier delivery dates !

Roll on September ! (I can feel a song coming on..)

So when you terminate early, you don't have to pay the full outstanding amount?

Not 100% sure as I've not done it before but from what I've read on the PH leasing threads, apparently VWFS companies normally ask for 55% of remaining payments for early termination.
I've requested a figure from Seat Financial based on handing it back with 6 months payments remaining so I'll see what they come back with.

Hi All

I am new to this so be gentle!

I have recently taken delivery of a MY19 Cupra in Magnetic Grey and loving it. However I have noticed what I think is a problem and wanted to see if another Cupra owner could help out.

Before I ask my question I know I am going to get lots of stick as it about the stop start function, but here goes.

When the car is fully up to temp and I am in full auto the stop start function works as expected. However if I flick the gear stick to the left and go into manual or sports, the stop start doesn’t work. In manual mode a message comes on the screen saying that the engine needs to be running for stop start to work. As soon as I flick back to auto the message goes and stop start works.

So if anyone out there with a new Cupra could test theirs for me it would be much appreciated? I think it is probably a bug in the software on all of them , but want to be sure before ignoring it and finding out something else more important is also not working.

Where did you get that info from?

Looking at the two ships locations they are no where near Barcelona (assuming thats where they get loaded). One left Barcelona 2 days ago and one is North of France
