Got ‘star washers’ from TPS (£1.04 ea)

and so up on axle stand again to get the exhaust heat shield secured
Went for a drive and all good.

Much different with it fitted? Rev more freely? This arl TDI I got has one but not fitted, was removed for mot.

On driving so far not noticed any increase in noise or drone until the right foot gets too heavy
Power wise not sure yet but have noticed the turbo seems to spoil a bit quicker

Spent 3 hours getting my hands dirty. Oil and filter changed and Air and fuel filter also changed. And that damn cabin filter so well positioned...

The old girl has cost me a fair bit so far this month:

New coolant flange.
Front and rear pads
Tie rod end
CV boot
New o/s/r caliper.
A couple of coolant pipes
Exhaust clamp
MOT
Replacement instrument cluster

Total £700+, but she's worth it...

Next on the list, take her to badger5 for a full engine rebuild and new turbo.

badger 5 work will be well worth it but I suspect another expensive month (after you have saved up for it all).
Are you having the engine tuned or just getting it back into tip top condition.
