Just had a play about with Carista so thought i'd share my thoughts.

1. disabled start stop (you cant override it with the button so its off permanently)
2. Enabled alarm chirp (It works but the volume is very low can it be turned up?)
3. Needle sweep (didn't work on the new digital Dash)
4. Soundakor (I turned it off at first and its amazing how much fake noise comes off it, and i can now hear the exhaust crackles much better however the whole exhaust and engine note is very quiet so i turned it back on at 50% mine was at 96% default at 50% i think its still too loud so gonna turn it down further. If i get a res delete in the summer i will be turning it off completely.

I haven't tried the direct throttle change yet and i think ill leave the xds alone.

Alarm chip appears to be SEAT having changed something, older cars you got a good feedback sound, now ones you don't.
I believe the only thing that can be done (although not sure if Carista supports it) is you can use the Horn instead of the other method.

Stop start all you are doing is fooling the system into not working, it does not change how the button works so this is as per design although I have heard that the Cupra R does have a better setup.

Would you say it’d be worth getting one then ?

@Naylor92 You need to need to work out what you want from these tools and then see if they provide what you want

The communication dongle you need for Carista will also support lots of other apps (like Torque Pro etc) so its not dead money for the dongle.

I only want it to change a few little things. Just not sure exactly whether it can be done with Carista.

Can you alter the DRL to 100 percent brightness with the Carista app? And can other things be altered, like the alternate indicator blinkers. Or is VCDS or OBDeleven needed?
Cheers.
Used mine for the first time today - Beta version. Both those options were available on Carista.
Although my DRL's were at 100% already, best bit was turning the soundakator off, it was at 97.6%!!!

In that case tell the guys here what you want to do and they will tell you if its possible, I dont use it (am OBD11 Guy) but for what you are after this is a better tool.

I tried the direct throttle response, but personally I felt no difference.
I have tried the soundaktor, but for me, it seemed to be either on or off, there was little or no change and then all of a sudden it was off. (although I prefer it off anyway)
I also tried the safety car indicators, but this didn't work, it just stopped the indicators on the body flashing, so only those on the boot lid worked. (i tried resetting the lights in the media system, but this didn't make any difference)

So how does this actually work?

Plug the part into the OBD.
Pair with phone.
Open app.
Click function you wish to activate.
Remove carista part from car.
Done? Or is it more complicated?

OBDeleven still not compatible with iPhone yet? Is there any other way you can use it other than having an adroid phone or tablet?

At the moment No. And when OBDeleven is available for iPhone it’s a different Dongle. I.e. if you already own an OBDeleven dongle you need to purchase a new one to use with an iPhone. Which is exactly what I’ll be doing.

OBD Eleven are currently working on IOS Version scheduled for end Q1 2019 (Eg Ready in April I suspect).

In the mean time simple answer is no unless you are good with Windows or Mac laptops as i have seen you can create VM Partitions and run it there but it does not look easy.

Can someone with a facelift tell me where the door LED menu should be on the infotainment system please? Was dicking about and can't find it anymore. Whenever I try to enable it on the app, the door LEDs go off with no option to turn back on.

Has anyone managed to change the comfort indicator flashes to 4? I've made the change and then disbaled and re-enabled in the menu but I still get three flashes.

It worked fine on my old Skoda and a mates Passat (both cards from 2014) but doesn't appear to have taken hold on my facelift Leon...
