Ibiza 6j speaker wire adapters

Just wondering if anyone has upgraded the front speakers on their 6j and could give me any advice. My speakers came with ibiza 6L wire adapters which are obviously wrong and I can’t seem to find any direct plug and play options for the 6j. What have people done to overcome this? I’m assuming its a cut and connect job, but I’m not very clued up with wiring so any info and advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I actually bought mine off someone on here who had them going spare as he didn't need them anymore. I managed to find the part on eBay bit cant remember what on earth they were called as it was quite a while ago. Once you have that though, I'm assuming you need to solder on the cables to these.

Would you not be better off just cutting the connector off the factory speakers and the new speakers and splicing the factory connector on the the new speaker? Either way your going to have to do wire a connector so that's your easiest option

Awesome, I'm yet to do mine but my driver side speaker has completely failed yesterday so I need to get it done asap. Pictures will be appreciated and any advice for taking apart the door card

Just in the process of rebuilding the passenger door now. Basically I followed Techie’s guide on how to remove the door card here:
https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/removing-mk5-ibiza-front-door-trim.250830/
I bought a kit from Ebay, which came with Pioneer speakers, 6L wiring adapters and plastic speaker adapters, but the wiring adapters and speaker adapters need modifying. I will post the modifications in pictures below.
Doing it for the first time is a time-consuming task. I took the glass completely out on the first time, but decided to just stick the passenger glass fully up second time around which will save a bit of time. When following the guide, you need to cut a plastic bracket near the door latch so having a dremel would be handy if you have one (and for the later mods that I’ll post).

Firstly I cut the wiring adapter plastics away to expose the pins.

The speakers came with screws for fitting to other applications, but I cut them down and used them to attach the speakers to the plastic speaker adapter bracket. I left one screw full size till the end just to tap each hole with a thread.

The speaker adapters don’t come with enough room to use the oem torx screws to attach back to the doorcard, so had to become creative and make room, using a hacksaw to cut slits in the plastic, then broke away ONLY THE FRONT layer of plastic which gave me sufficient room. I couldn’t avoid cutting the back layer but keeping it in place means it holds some rigidity. There are 6 places on each adapter that you need to do this for.

Screw the speaker to the adapter, fit the torx screws through the adapter beforehand as they are kinda tight for the first few threads. Then attach the wiring adapter.

Plug the speaker in and ensure it works, if not try flipping around the connection.

Use a few cableties to keep everythig tight as the last thing you want is an annoying rattle, I also put a cabletie around the connection so it cant rattle loose too.
Screw the speaker back to the doorcard and begin reassembling the doorcard back to the door using the guide again, some of the screws might take a while to line up with the window regulator but you just have to persevere. I also put a bit of sound deadening on the door while it was all apart.
This was the first time doing doorcards on a seat, only ever tackled a mk4 vw doorcard before this, just take your time and don’t rip off anything too hard, but some of the clips will be stubborn, just work around them with interior trim tools.
Hope this helps and if you get stuck with anything, just give me a PM. Nobody helped me on facebook with advice so I just used a bit of initiative to make it work. It looks a bit rough which is where a dremel would come in handy but I just used the tools I had to hand.

Update:
Finished the passenger side this afternoon...Advice I can give after doing both sides is:
1) If you follow Techie’s guide, listen to the part where he says “Only unscrew the bottom torx screws 15mm”. If you take them out, it becomes a nightmare putting the window regulators back into position. Trust me, I learned the hard way, especially when the passenger side door card has previous been off and whoever took it off beforehand wasn’t very cautious and snapped the plastics that hold the regulators to the doorcard. Keeping the bolts in place makes life 100% easier.
2) I retract my statement about keeping the glass in place. It is much easier to just take the glass out as getting the window regulators on the right side of the glass with it taped in place is a pain in the ass. It is easier to slide the glass into the regulator clamps after putting the doorcard back into position.
