I have mine mounted between the battery and airbox on a bracket I knocked up! I've routed the usb cable the same way as the obd cable, however I had to cut off the usb plug to get it through the rubber grommet then reconnect once back through! However for your purpose of grabbing a few logs, I used to just run it out the top of the bonnet, over the mirror and into the passenger window, looks odd but works spot on!

If your wanting to use the mobile app I think I've got the APK if your using an android device, saves paying the £20 for it!
Ok, I did it that way until u get jb4 on and yes PM me the APK. Thanks for all ur help, invaluable.

Shoot me over your email Addy, found that APK for ya!
Hello, I've ran the log using the jb1, boost is always higher than target sso no issues there. Not sure I'm reading the log correct. For instance in 4th at wot the target reads 16.7 and the actual reads 17.5. does this seem ok? Is the target the requested above attmosphere, if so this seems good as the psi would indicate at requested above attmosphere of just over 1.1 bar, which is what I expected. Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question!

Sorry about the delay, only just got away from work at 4am this morning! Lol

This is normal, every log I took using the jb1 would always show the actual boost ever so slightly over the target!

Do you want to shoot me over the CSV file and I'll have a ganders!

hello again, thanks for getting back

I have had a look at the full excel doc for the logging runs I've done and think I've found the symptom of the problem at least. I have tried to attach the file but I keep getting an extension error - bah!!

Having view the full log it seems clear my ECU is not requesting the boost levels expected - I would expect to see a max of just over 1.1 bar or around 16 psi being requested by the ECU in 4th with WOT using 99 ron fuel as ever. I was pleased at first as the graph showed around these figures - however I made a mistake when setting up the JB1. I thought the bypass Map was Map 4 and set it to this - of course I now realise it is Map 0.

On line 174 of the excel doc it demonstrates that the ECU is requesting just 12 psi @ 5707 rpm, the max I have seen in the log is the ECU requesting 12.6. If you add the Map 4 piggyback of 4.8 psi and add this to the 12 psi from the ECU this give a target Psi of 16.8 - the car made 17.5 psi and held on to the boost well giving an even spread until it died off around 6k as expected.

From the above it seems evident that I have a healthy turbo (mine is the later variety thankfully) and no significant boost leaks (as the boost is always above the target). What is not clear is why the ECU is requesting what seems to be around 4 to 5 psi less than expected - no wonder the car feels slow in stock trim - only getting a max of 0.8 bar. There are no engine management lights, the car runs very well, is not getting hotter or running colder than expected and I have made no changes to the car. When a friend ran the car through VCDS check he found no significant (according to him) fault codes - just a bunch of emissions codes that he says are expected over time.

So I am completely stumped and will return the car to Map 0 just in case the JB1 add boost (which of course makes it feel like stock!) is causing damage. Not sure what to do now tbh - any ideas?

My email is [email protected] if u wanna fire across that app file btw.

Many thanks again

Jp
