Hi,

I've tried searching this question but it seems so difficult to find. But...

1. How can you identify the EA111 engine (I think that's the twin) and the EA112? Is there a model year etc that I can easily identify it.

2. Are the single charger engines much more reliable than the twincharger?

Thanks in advance

It's not the same engine.

You could just Google " TSI 140 ACT ".

You'll get hits from all the VW/Audi/SEAT forums where the engine is talked about since it featured in Polo Golf A1 Leon and Ibiza at least.

There probably was a early "turbo only" version of that engine fitted to the 6R Polo 1.4 GT and so many other VW Group cars - and it should not have any real nasty issues like the twin charger.

Remember that the EA111 family of engines are completely different than the EA211 family of engines - as well as the well documented fact that it was only the twin charger that was a real problem for some people, so to repeat what has already been written before:- the twin charger was only ever built as a version of EA111 engine family.
