I’ve got an OBD power lead and the cam is left permanently in the car. The standard nextbase mount wouldn’t work.
From the outside it’s pretty hard to see too. Easier to see the sticky mount!!
So I drove to work and back today, having fitted my dashcam last night. Very happy with the cam.
However, on both journeys, I had no DAB signal. It worked perfectly up until today, so it must be something to do with the dashcam install.
I have a non GPS cam, Nextbase 212, and used a Nextbase wiring kit. Any ideas??

Have you pulled the fuse for the dash cam to cut power to be sure its the dash cam causing loss of dab signal. Sure another person on here lost dab signal when using dash cam. I seem to remember they needed to swap power cable to stop interference with dab signal.
I've got mine hardwired in, and I've always left in on display.
A lot of my friends have them too and I don't know any of them who remove them when parked up... however my luck ran out last month when parked up in Manchester...! Left it for about 2 hours and came back to this!
Happened to another car on the same car park too, again the dashcam was stolen.
I blame myself for parking in what was a pretty dodgy looking car park with no CCTV or pedestrians passing by etc. All fixed now and I have a new dashcam, and I've not suddenly started removing it just because of what happened, I'll just be more conscious about where I'm parking, and remove it when necessary.

Cheers for reply, way past the point of claiming a new mount, it's been in a year and a half now. With the mount being semi flexible in the ball joint at the top I just tilt mine if I want to remove it, not that I ever do.

Well, having used my car quite a bit since my last post, the DAB reception problem seems to have disappeared. I have had perfect DAB signal ever since.
After daniel_ley's post, I have decided to relocate the camera though. It sits behind the rear view mirror now, which I prefer as the cam is virtually out of my view, and it is still removable. More importantly though, the mount sucker is now in the black dotted area of the windscreen, so is not visible from outside.

That's exactly where I have got mine positioned, means I have to move the camera angle when connecting to wifi etc but it's not a big problem. Can barely see it from the drivers seat
I worry about mine being nicked too. Since Nextbase updated their firmware the parking mode on my one has become a bit of a joke anyway so I might start taking it off when parked in more secluded areas.I've got mine hardwired in, and I've always left in on display.

After running 2 Nextbase dashcam's for 3 months now, just a word of caution from my experience about them.
I have a 212 fitted in my car, and was initially so impressed with it, I fitted one in my partners Focus too.
Hers was the first to start playing up. The camera would stay powered up, but the screen would freeze. It would lose between 2 and 7 minutes worth of footage between freezes. Tried a card reformat, still didn't work. Took it back to Halfords, got a replacement SD card, and still the same problem. Got the cam replaced, and so far so good.
However, after checking my own cam tonight, I have some video files on mine that are corrupt and don't play. I do the recommended 2 weekly SD card formats.
So Nextbase doesn't get my recommendation. Or if you do buy Nextbase, make sure you buy their SD card aswell, and keep the receipt!

Have a nextbase I fitted to a work van and having to keep formatting rather than it overwriting automatically is a bit poor. My 5 year old mobius does that with no issues, but sadly the night mode is very grainy now. Might have to look at a replacement in the future. My mates Blackvue is great, but they're so expensive
Gotta say, we run 5 Nextbase 312's with SanDisk cards and have experienced zero issues!
I've had a Nextbase 512G camera for over 3 years now and not had any trouble (touch wood), excellent quality video and at night. I use Sandisk 32gb Ultra cards.
Another vote for the SanDisk cards, had one from the start, no issues whatsoever with either card or camera.
I have the 212 and mine automatically overwrites when the card is full. Formatting is just a recommendation I believe.
My only gripe would be that the g sensor is very sensitive and locks files all the time just because you've hit a bump in the road and speed and jolted too much. Other than that, camera has been faultless and you can turn g sensor off anyway. In the event of an accident there's no way it is going to keep running and running and overwrite your file after the event anyway.
