I suspect they think these cars just sell themselves, I was talking to a guy who works for Jag and I said to him that my old next door neighbour used to have a Merc, when she went in to the garage they made her feel special, washed the car, drove her into town etc.
Jag however once they had sold her a car were not interested anymore.

He said "SEAT TAKE NOTE" they have realised that customers count and you have to keep them happy.

I had considered taking my Ateca there for service, but now they've lost the opportunity for servicing 2 cars for at least 5 years each (during waŕranty) as well as the purchase price of the Cupra. I had the same experience in 1992 with a Golf VR6 where I suspect my age didn't fit the stereotype. I replaced that a couple of years later with , er - a 300 bhp AWD estate and have stayed with the dealer that serviced that ever since.

Now two Carbons on Autotrader,Norwich and Leicester.
I'll give it a month and if some are still there I'll make some direct enquiries!

That’s my plan, when I called, no deals and 12.9% on finance.

Where as a new Cupra Lux was 6.5% with £2,500 deposit contribution.

They will never sell them with that interest rate. Will make it so expensive and the spec isn't that great on them, they look good though... very good! dam it, I want one.

I’m just after the seats and BBK. Would be happy with the side skirts standard bumpers and my BCS exhaust. But finding an ST with Bucket Seats is a PITA.

would it not be cheaper to buy the seats and brake kit.

If I was keeping this car yeah. But I’m trading the car in anyway within the next 12 months. I’d get a 290 black edition if it had the warranty, but they’re getting on abit now.

So ST 300 DSG with 4x4 is the next car one way or another. So if the car doesn’t come with the seats it’s going to be hell of expensive to add that to the price of buying a new car. As is getting the side skirts/blades.

So the Carbon Edition on the same finance would be the cheaper option as it has all the bits I want apart from Seat Sound.

Hoping to get a nearly new one start of next year. Will see what happens.

Agreed if you are not keeping your current one then there is no point from a costs perspective.

Wouldn't mind a Cupra Lux if the deal was right...but is the wait still ages?

For those who are willing to look at other brands it's worth knowing that for £35k you can get a top of the range BMW 3 series Touring (340i or 335d xdrive) pre reg with negligible miles.

Makes a Carbon with no discount sound rather too much IMO.

Yeah it’s defo over priced. I do like the 3 series as my dad has one. But the Touring’s boot is rubbish compared to the ST.

Personally not a massive fan of BMW interiors, just tend to look quite bland. On certain models they've nailed the exterior but feel constantly let down as soon as you open the door. Nice cars overall though.

On a whim had a look round my local SEAT dealer today.(Chesterfield).
The surprise was that lurking in the corner was a Carbon edition.
No pricing on it or any display information at all around it,although it was open so I had a look inside as well as out.

I got talking to a salesman, which was a useless experience because he had only been there a short time and I knew more about the car than he did.

I asked if there were any offers on the car and he went into a back room and came out and just said "It's just under £36 k."
I told him I wouldn't be a buyer at that price and left.
What a way to try and sell cars!!!

The car certainly looks very understated to me,grey inside and out,but that will appeal to some.
It will probably sell sooner rather later simply because they are the only new Cupra STs available immediately...

...but not to me!!!

I suspect that there will be a winter sale soon and the price will come down to a more sensible level.

Now three on Autotrader plus my local one equals FOUR!
