Well to be fair it says on the service sheet every 60,000 km = 37/- Miles so I guess they just round up to 40/- or 4 years.

Afraid I dont trust main dealers anymore, I have found a few locals that know how to look after a car but I still tell them what i want just to make sure.

I'm slowly learning, having never had a car like this before I rely on the dealer to guide me. In reality I learn much much more on this forum.

Either way they were overdue/ due and they should have known. They did the same with the DSG oil and the LSD oil. I had to prompt them into thinking about it and both I have now learned were late.

I've been putting it down to that they don't see many Cupra's in the workshop but now I just think it's laziness. If it were me being asked to work on a car type I rarely saw i'd double check what needed doing.

Anyway, everything now done and running sweetly so I hope I don't have to go down there for another year. And FYI anyone who is bothered, new tyre sealant gunk is £53 from SEAT, genuine part from eBay, £20

Off to fit LED indicators now and put on my SeatCupra.net sticker. Happy Saturday people.

Finally got around to changing the Ambient Lighting in my wife’s Leon xcellence to the shade of Purple she wanted and earned myself some Brownie Points in the Process

When this wind and rain stops I’m looking to finally get my extra bhp (as endorsed by @Jimbobcook ) SEAT CUPRA.NET sticker fitted.

How did you get the purple? Didn't look like an option to change to that colour in the 300.

It isn’t. Using OBDELEVEN you can change one of the existing (or all if it suits you) to any colour as long as you have the rgb code.

These are all the shades of purple

Sure i have seen some coding that allowed you to add another 3 colours to the stock list along with changing them

just for my info what coding did you use to add colour and I have a look round to see if there is anything else, if may also be that newer cars dont allow extra colours.

So... Decided to take the quick route to lowering by banging my car against the sidewalk on a corner, first rear and then front.

2 destroyed wheels, broken control arm and let's see what else.
Insurance covers it, but not the nicest way to start your birthday...

Road was wet and I managed to save the front but there was just not enough space to pull the rear out :(

....and...

Things like this make me love Finland - during today, the following happened:
- Car was checked by the main dealer (where it will be repaired)
- Insurance company pre-approved the repair
- Dealership quoted repair cost
- Insurance company inspector approved it

Dealer told me that the repair will take 2-3 weeks because they need to order parts from Germany and potentially from Spain.
They said they will replace the whole rear suspension components and was guaranteed the car will be as good as new.
...I also made sure they threw 2 new wheels in the quote, so I will get also the front wheel (the rear is beyond repair, but the front is mostly cosmetic)

Overall, I am happy with the outcome.

You’d get that in England too but they’d have the car for 6 weeks

Drove from Somerset down to the South of France for a weeks holiday, my facelift FR didn’t miss a beat!

I bought a French motorway toll tag so I could literally speed through the toll plazas and beat all the queues, highly recommend to anyone planning a trip!

How many miles did you do in total? I love a good road trip! Driven to Germany a few times in the cupra r. Great fun!

How do they work, is it one of those you stick on the windscreen? I'm driving through France next month, although going straight to Bruges so it might not be worth it.

Did 950 miles in total, not bad going, think the average mpg was about 45 which in a 1.4 petrol with air con on isn’t bad!

Went to Germany in my old mk3 1.6 diesel a few months ago and let it go on the autobahn and it was amazing fun.

The tag is the thing that sticks on the windscreen, you don’t have to stop to take a ticket or stop to pay. You just drive through and they bill you a month later, so easy to use and it’s nice to confuse the rest of the English people on their holidays when I go through a tag lane!

Probably not worth it going to Bruges, there’s a £20 deposit on the tag and other charges, so only makes sense on a long trip I think.

Managed to add colours to the Ambient Lighting on a Facelift 2017 Leon and I did the following:

Ignition on but engine not running.

Selected (09) Central Electrics
Selected Adaptations
Selected Ambientelicht Farbliste
(The Ambient Lighting List only shows 8 colours on the MIB screen, and I wanted to add one)
Selected Rotwert Farbe 9 and changed the value to the Red value for the RGB Code you might have.
Selected Blauwert Farbe 9 and changed the value to the Blue value for the RGB Code you might have.
Selected Gruenwert Farbe 9 and changed the value to the Green value for the RGB Code you might have.
Selected Ambience_lighting_color_list_lin
Selected Rotwert_Farbe_9_lin and changed the value to the Red value for the RGB Code you might have.
Selected Blauwert_Farbe_9_lin and changed the value to the Blue value for the RGB Code you might have.
Selected Gruenwert_Farbe_9_lin and changed the value to the Green value for the RGB Code you might have.
Save all the changes (requires a code which I think was 31347

Shut down OBD11 and the turned the ignition off.

Turn the ignition back on and checked the background lighting and you will see there are now 9 colours listed and not 8 as previous.

I didn't test to see if more could be added but there is another slot (10) and it has been discussed on this forum before that two colours can be added.

One thing I noticed when changing one of the existing colours in the ambience lighting list is that the RGB values in Ambientelicht Farbliste and Ambience_lighting_color_list_lin did not show the same values. When I changed an existing colour I made sure both sets of number were the same on the colour I changed and I did the same for the new colour added.

I have to say my wife is very impressed that she can have different shades of purple in her ambience lighting.
