Weird Noise Front Passenger, So confused!

Hi, I'm proud to say I'm the new owner of a seat Leon cupra 1.8t 20v AUQ 2001 140k miles

My problem is when I got the car its had little mods done like dump valve, coilovers etc... and the front wheels where 205-40-17 and rear was 205-50-17 so I changed front bald tyres for new 205-50-17 and a couple days in I got a weird rubbing and slight grinding noise from front passenger side I thought tyre was rubbing off arch but I raised coilovers and was definitely not that so discs were worn so I changed these in case of warped pitted discs but nope problem persists, Tyre doesn't seem to be rubbing off anything. When I accelerate noise dissapears when I lift it comes back, and noise goes with the speed of wheel, when I turn right slightly louder than when I drive straight and drive left it sort of goes away, soon as I accelerate dissapears again. It sounds almost exactly as if tyre was rubbing off something with a slight grind, discs are fine pads are fine only other thing I done was tighten droplink and slightly raise coilover, any ideas? Maybe CV joints need grease or bearing is bad? If its bearing how do I fix that? Can adjusting coilovers affect droplinks to make noises or driveshafts or anything?

Jamie, welcome to SCN!

Have you checked that the backplates aren't touching the rear of the discs? If it's super low, the anti roll bar can touch the driveshafts unless you have adjustable drop links.

Thank you im glad to be here, Just noticed your in Edinburgh too, Don't have any back plates on it passenger side was taking off at some point and drivers side was so rusty it broke off and don't have adjustable the car is not really low and thanks so much for replying mate I really need the help cheers:)

Sometimes there's a bit of backplate left attached to the steering knuckle and it contacts the back of the disc and makes a scraping or screeching noise.

Have u checked wheel bearing or CV boot/driveshaft better safe than sorry lol

Hi, did you find out what was making the noise in the end. The noise you described here is exactly what I'm having
