Takes 5 minutes to change the struts. They just pop off

Incredibly simple and easy to reverse - one tip I'd suggest is pre-place the little spring-metal clip that holds them in place on the foot so that you can slide it into place easily once the strut is attached.
Muggins here tried for 10 mins to fit the little swine with the foot in place already before wising up and doing the above. If I'd known that beforehand, it literally is a 5 minute job.

Ah wonderful, managed to key my own car trying to open the boot with bags and keys in my hand so self opening would be great

It may something about my level of maturity but I laughed out loud when I tried the boot after fitting them - up it popped like my old A4 used to do and which I missed a bunch for the same reason as you Ben - have very nearly keyed my car on more than one occasion doing the same as you with shopping

Luckily it's only like 1cm wide so I just laugh at my misfortune every time I see it. Will definitely be buying those struts next week when I get paid, then I can show off my boot opening abilities to accompany the 1 click folding mirrors I did with obdeleven

I attempted to change my footwell bulbs, they were already LED and I was faced with some form of plastic thing and got a little discouraged so gave up and decided to do my reverse light. Realised I don't have the hex bolt thing :(

A large flat head screw driver worked for me for the hex fitting in the rear clusters. LED footwells are easy to change. Just be delecate prising the led housing apart. It's held with small tabs either end if I remember correctly.

For above, the boot light you'll see a little notch in the diffuser, insert a flat head screwdriver and prise it down.

Changing Foot well Bulbs, I was faced with this:

I'll have to do some research based around the Golf as there's more information about. Indicators next I guess.

I did an extra oil change on my st cupra 280 today. Feels really good !
I searched both the car manual and the web for oil capacity. Nothing in The manual (that I know of) and very hard to find info for the golf R too.
Found one driver of golf R mk7 on a forum whom stated 5.6l.
I poured 5.5l in mine and got a good level on the dip stick.

Somewhere up north
Gave mine a good wash yesterday which included cleaning the wheels with Bilt Hamber Auto Wheels for the first time. Very impressed with the results. Not only cleaned the outside of the wheel but also the majority of the inner surface and the brake calipers. Looks great.

Only downside was that I used almost half the 1L bottle for one clean, so I'll be keeping the rest for a time when I can't get them clean with water and a sponge.
