Finally got my build week for my 290 ST after ordering on 2nd Aug - BW47. May just be able to pick it up before Christmas if I'm lucky... Seems the 12-14 week estimate went well out of the window!

So you have ordered yours 3 days before me. Are the st having longer lead times to the hatch? Or do you think this is a good indication of when I should be looking at getting mine.

Trouble with this long build time is, I'm beginning to loose interest in having the car now. Considering cancelling my order tbh

It's not the long lead time that bothers me..... it's pretty standard with any decent car ..... look at lead on the RS ..... it's not knowing and the crap information or lack of information

Let's be honest, we're all on a forum dedicated to the car. If you were thinking of cancelling your order, you'd phone your supplier and say that rather than getting annoyed at a new car build time. Part of me thinks a lot of people haven't had a new car before and think the lead time is the same as walking into a used car dealer and picking one there and then.

I must say the info is bad, I've had company cars for years, once I've ordered I get an email at least twice a month with status, even if it hasn't changed, had this with BMW and Audi, I had nothing with seat.

I have had new cars before. I bought another brand new one from seat as well from seat a week after I ordered the cupra. lucky that was in stock so got it fairly quickly. But in the past I was informed, with delays or issues.
Not to have to chase up and then be left with no clear answer.
Now I don't mind waiting as long as I have a date to work towards. Otherwise I will just loose interest.
And I have already contacted the supplier. And giving them till Monday afternoon to see what they can find out, and I will take it from there. I don't think they will be overly fussed due to the demand for the car if I cancel or not

I know what you mean. Mine should be in the country but my dealer still has no idea when it will arrive, lucky I'm not in a rush for it!

So, what we've established is that there are some good dealers who actively find out where the cars are in the production process an keep the buyer informed, and there are dealers who aren't bothered.

... and on that Bombshell, I'll get my coat and pop over to my dealer to complete the paperwork ready for my collection on Wednesday.
Build week 38 car for info.

Be very surprised. I'm week 43. So far my collection date has been: Early Nov. End of Nov. Early. Dec. End of Dec.

I managed to find out from SEAT UK that my bw39 arrived to port of tyne on Friday 7th Oct had its transport order raised to go to dealer last Wednesday 12th and will be collected today (17th) or tomorrow. Hopefully it'll get pdi'd by Friday and I can have it by Friday 28th latest.

The most annoying thing is keep getting my insurance quote kicked along so it doesn't time out. That's already happened and it went up by £45!

Just rang about mine, got into Newcastle Thursday night, has to be quality checked then transport order raised, 5-7 working days until at the dealer, then PDI etc so probably looking the weekend of 29th/30th which leaves me very tempted to let it be 1st November for the tax...

My Build week is 42 (this week)

I am leasing a cupra 290 in alor blue - ordered on 26th August.

If im honest i've been a bit neglected by my leasing company (21st Century Motors, Preston), they haven't been giving me many updates throughout the last couple of months unless i have chased them via email.

I've asked a couple of times for a predicted delivery week, but they haven't gave much away. :(

Suppose its just a waiting game

Mines the same build week mate. Got told by seat they are being built today, but can take up to two weeks then a further 4-6 weeks to get to the dealer, then gotta get to us. So Gonna be sometime in November hopefully. Ask the lease company for the order number, you are entitled to it, freedom gave me mine. Then call 0500 222 222 to find out what's going on.

Wow thats longer than i was expecting :( better sit tight for a bit then!

Cheers for that! I'll ask them now to see what the crack is, if it's any different i'll let you know.

This is my first time leasing tbh, do leased cars get delivered to the lease company itself or to a local seat?
