Cleaned these up last night but they were in good shape anyway so used the same method as the fronts but only needed the one pass.

Before:

I had to swap over one of the rear seat catch surrounds as one was cracked but after that was sorted in they went.

Swapped over from my other set.

Then fitted.

Absolutely love them and I almost think the rears are cooler than the fronts!

I've never really thought that much of the LCR Recaros but I think I may be swaying towards a set now, they look great.

Thanks for the comments guys. I must say having sat in them and now having them in the car I would never get rid of them. They are fantastic seats, look the part and match the car spot on obviously yet are purposeful and massively sought after in this condition.

Il be getting an oem centre arm rest to finish off the interior and to be honest that will be the cabin area done for now (unless I get a steal on a double din setup lol) but for now I'm going to enjoy it as it is.

Not much to report. The cars out of action currently (emergency use only) due to there being a rear input shaft starting to make alot of noise in the gearbox.

Don't want to risk damaging it. The transmission work is booked in for June so it's a frustrating wait.

I also am fighting a company currently after a strimmer cutting a grass verge flicked a stone into my rear passenger door a couple weeks back.

Dent through to the metal and a couple scratches upset is an understatement.

The car won't be mint until this is sorted and annoyingly a few of us will have a stand at Bromley pageant in June too.

By the end of June though the gearbox will have been rebuilt and uprated. New clutch and flywheel kit. Battery relocated to the boot.

This will give me a few projects for the summer boxing and carpetting to hide the batter and changing the heat shield and filter location and setup to finish the bay off. Exciting times, frustrating wait lol

Been a while since the last update and yes sadly the damage is still being disputed and not sorted out.

Went to Bromley Pageant at the beginning of June with a few friends and members from here. Was a lovely hot day and although badly organised was a good day once we were inside. A few pics from the day of the old girl.

Then onto more build work.
This week the car was dropped off at Carbon Motors for some big work.

250acb0fa0a3bcdc6585cdcec670edff.jpg

This includes the fitting of some of my hoard of goodies I showed a while back.

The gearbox is being dropped out to be taken to Medway Transmissions and Neil at Carbon is then going to fit my CG Motorsport smf clutch kit rated to 400ft lb and relocate the battery to the boot. He is then going to reinstall the gearbox after the work to it is done.

On the first day he had it he posted me some nice pics.

Which then meant that the following day I was able to go and collect the gearbox from him.

All looking pretty clean.

The following day I was then able to pack my box of gearbox goodies and dropped it all of this morning to Medway Transmissions.

61933bc482db0062f99d125cf0868336.jpg

This included a quaiffe atb LSD, new dif besrings and ARP crown wheel bolts, darkside developments 1-2 and 3-4 steel selector forks with brass sliders, darkside 5-6 reinforcement kit.

Hopefully they will get to the bottom of the deceleration whine suspect rear input shaft bearing.

Can't wait to get this back.

Hi, very very impressed with your ride and the attention to detail.
I've been looking at the CG Motorsport clutch kit, so I'll be interested to see how you get on with it. Would you mind confirming which kit you chose, please, it would be greatly appreciated.
Keep up the excellent work :)

Thanks very much. It is their 666 clutch kit and single mass fly wheel and is rated to 400ft lb. I will not be pushing for figures more than this so it suited my build. The car should be back this week and I have a 500 mile bed in period so I will update soon.

So anyway the gearbox ended up coming back about 3 weeks later than planned but all the goodies were installed and it was back to Carbon Motive to be put back together again.

Quick shifter back on.

c072b5aaab0361c5396f284f15c43188.jpg

New slave cylinder.

Also got hold of some vibratechnic engine mounts so the oem ones were swapped out while it was apart.

And the bay was all tidied up and put back together. The battery was also relocated at the same time while it was all out also.

The battery was relocated to the boot in a nice today cage.

At least now the car was drivable and went straight through an MOT with no advisories.

I already had things in motion to tidy up the boot with a false floor and box to hide the battery and keep an oem look so I got to work on that next....

f631e3898d905cc2b0f148eb17378dd7.jpg

Old carpet for template.

Then got to work cutting it out to fit.

7530113bae7d4ba5a496877cff58aa31.jpg

Then cutting in half to allow access still one side for the spare wheel.

6a7fd1159820c47d5b4d84b6db7b2faf.jpg

But still fits back to look as one...

c2818dfe47eb5d7c976347846d95a1aa.jpg

I then battened the under side to raise it up over the spare wheel and used sub box carpet and contact adhesive to make it look nice.

083de47a46be2a9c410c700860a145ac.jpg

Overall I was very happy with the finish and the match to the rest of the carpet on the boot walls etc.

Next was to make a box and carpet the same to hide the battery.

Again massively happy with how it turned out. This finished the boot off for now.

I ordered a sun glasses holder from a mk4 golf and replaced the driver side grab handle. Another small subtle interior mod.

Then my attention went back to the engine space and all of the new space I had from removing the battery...

f28f4c25d865b077e1bdad0583779e67.jpg

New huge ram air filter with 150mm flow stack reducer.

And ran a cold air feed directly to it from the passenger side fog light after removing that.

6e4ca1f5a76777f0841ea80cd2de5b0d.jpg

bfba14f996566041b527613818f08eae.jpg

Then got the filter fitted with a silicone elbow to get the angle right.

84bf648c72b306dc385302f4c6ef4482.jpg

Then tidied it all up and re fitted the catch can mounting it to the front oem plastic feed from the grills.

9521cc525897ac5de7e9eb556250341a.jpg

It's now looking much better and much closer to being finished in there.

I will be making a custom heat shield up at some point in the near future to finish it off.

The next thing was to bed the clutch in for 500 miles before being able to really test the LSD out..
