Media system/ media system plus confusion

Hi

I have spent ages looking through the 2 brochures that seat provide, and I'm really confused by it all.

I have ordered a fr 184 with tech pack.

In the price brochure it states in various places that the tech pack includes media system plus.

As far as I can tell this is the bigger screen at 6.5 inches with Sat nav.

However nowhere actually says 100% what the normal media player is (the 5 inch option) or what that is.

Page 12 of the February price list is just confusing itself, as it mentions in the listing for the fr dynamic pack, that the media system plus comes with the tech pack

Can someone please point out the difference of the 2, ideally with a photo.

The reason I'm so confused is because I'm likely to want the full link system, and you need the plus to do it.

Hi,

Standard Leon 184 w/Tech Pack will not come with the Nav High system.

The screen on the 'standard' system and the nav high are identical, its just some inner stuff on the nav high, Full link is included with Nav high, however can be added to standard for a cost of £150.

They would probably sell more options if they made then easier for people to understand them, often the dealer's selling them don't even understand what goes with what.

If you have the tech pack you can have the mirror link for £150 extra
You don't need the plus package, although the plus package gets it included in the price along with bigger screen, 10gb hard drive, 3d and probably some other crap over and above the standard tech pack media

Doesn't come with a bigger screen, its the same size...

Has 10GB of usable SSD storage (jukebox), 3D maps, Full lin, DVD playback/Video playback (when stationary) picture viewer, DAB, 2 SD card slots, Wifi connectivity for DNLA playback. Not sure about voice activation but mine has voice activation when phone isn't plugged in and 'Hey Siri' available when using the car with Carplay...

Mine is MY16.

I totally understand, however apparently the tech pack comes with the bigger screen. (Again in the brochure)

My dealer didn't know the difference, every image I can find looks the same.

To make it a little clearer, one screen is 5 inches, and the other is 6.5 inches

The 5" inch screen is the basic screen with no dab or sat nav, the 5.8" screen is the old pre MY16 tech pack screen, the 6.5" screen is the MY16 screen. So if you order tech pack today this is what you get. It has two SD slots, one for the sat nav and one for music.

This is crazy. My dealer hasn't got a clue what's going on.
Seats website and brochure say different things
Brochure says 6.5 dealer says 5.8 even though it's the tech pack

Is there much difference between the 2

Plus over the standard is: 10GB ssd for 'jukebox' also navigation runs from ssd so it's quicker and frees up an ad card slot (meaning 2 free). WLAN for music streaming and also full link as standard. The unit will also play videos (various formats) and dvd's when stationary.

Think that's about it, I got it solely as I wanted the sat nav to be quicker - was crap in my Audi due to to sd card speed - oh. And I wanted full link anyway.

So how come some places reference 5.8. Inch screen and some 6.5...
Photos would be handy if any differences exist

My dealer is pretty much the same in not having a clue, ordered mine last week and told me both front and rear parking sensors come as standard!?!
They did find me the car I wanted quickly though, fr with tech and convenience pack but also full link. (Not charged me for the convenience and full link)
They did however say that a CD player was optional?
I'm guessing that is right?

Do you think where it says "10 GB hard disk drive" in the Ateca Navigation System Plus they mean SSD ?. Personally I didn't think bouncing about a hard drive in a car was good. Then on the other hand I see some enterprising people upgrade their satnav VW hard disk drive based system to SSD when they think the HD is going.

OK I see that the VW specification of Discovery Nav Pro spills the beans on the navigation memory usage if this happens to be the same model

http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/technology/navigation-and-entertainment-systems/discover-nav-pro

Anybody getting FLAC to play on their Leons, it plays on the headend above but not the plain Discovery one. Would be nice to know that newer Seat's place FLAC via SD card so one isn't into a big messing about phase with music files.
