It's not yet registered, they are waiting to hear from SEAT regarding the extra years factory warranty as this needs to be purchased before its registered...

Just about to order an ST FR 1.4 EcoTSI. Has anyone got the Drive Profile option? A couple of reviews seem to be lukewarm about it, but I rather fancy to have the option if does something useful.

Incidentally ref other queries - I tried both a 1.2 and 1.4 FR and the 17" wheels do make a significant difference compared with the 16s on the 1.2 the 17s being both noisier and harsher - but sharper than the 16s. On balance I'd prefer the car on 16s - but that isn't an option with the 1.4 engine. My preferences might be swayed by the fact that the car is intended as an all rounder, including continental holidays 4 up.

I'm used to 17/18" tyres on most of my cars so expect them to be slightly harsher - the handling is usually a bit crisper and they look better too.

Was tempted by the drive profile but anyone who added any options found themselves on the end of a 20 week wait so i didn't bother.

I suspect it's the /40 profile rather than the 17" which is the prime culprit - my wife's Suzuki Swift Sport (which the Ibiza is replacing) has 17s too - but /45 profile - and hers rides rather better.

I can live with the wait, we don't actually need to change cars - more a case of a bit of rationalisation. The ST is aimed at combining the sportiness of the Swift with the practicality of our other car - a Nissan Note. It's compromise, of course, but it makes a decent fist of both roles while still being a small car.

Incidentally anyone got a link to a manual download?

Yes the /40 will make the ride harsher for sure. I've tried to locate a pdf of the manual to no avail so if anybody has one I'd be grateful too. Seat sure make it difficult to obtain these for some reason.

Looks great - did you manage to get any sleep last night then?

Once you have it in your possession lets have some more photos - let me now how you find the engine too.
