Hi All,
I have recently purchased my first LCR. From research it seems the car is well known on here, with at least three previous owners being listed in here, one of which I got in contact with before buying it off the guy that had the car before me.
Its a Platinum 53 plate LCR which seems to have had a pampered history. Low mileage for the age, full service history and receipts for major service items, being clutch, water pump, cam belt etc.
I love it, ive always had a soft spot for these cars so at the ripe age of 30 I decided what with the current prices these seem to be at, at the moment, that nows the time to get one, I collected it last Saturday.
I really like the car, very nice drive, suspension feels tight, the Brembos are not long refurbished so they are giving plenty of feel. I was a little apprehensive initially as coming from a phs1 clio 172 I was worried the LCR would feel like a big wolloy beast in the corners and under braking but thus far this dosnt seem to be the case.
I am itching for the weekend to come along so I can have a good nosey under the bonnet - I have been reading a lot about the n75? and n something or other (blackbox under the engine cover) which seems to be popular to remove. I want to check to see if mine has this, as the car is lightly modified with a Miltek decat and system and a live map, and I think im right in saying a forge 007 recirculating valve? The map was carried out at performance engineering in Cardiff, allegedly the car is circa 280hp - it certainly pulls very very well, not that I am into thrashing the car around all the time but when you want to feel the power you can certainly feel its there.
I stress this is my first vehicle from the VAG group, I am a Ford man at heart and still have Fords aswell, with the LCR replacing my current daily drive - the clio 172. So I am keen to learn as much as I can about the 1.8T in the car.
I hope to get some pictures up when forum rules allow.
Thanks - Gareth.
