Boost Gauge off the FPR or the DV??

Hey guys, fitting my first boost gauge tomorrow and have been looking around and can't find for definite where to T piece from...

I have been researching for weeks, and still can't find an answer, some people have been saying you can't T off the FPR without the N249 bypass, which I haven't done...

So very confused, any help will be very useful

In my opinion it is better to take it of DV. I wouldnt want to affect fueling if my boost gauge developed a leak for example.

So correct me if I'm wrong please, but I can T off anywhere along this pipe? I don't understand, I'm really not a mechanic or have much common sense sadly :(

I wouldn't touch it if you don't have a clue mate, I'm sure these a guide on this form, type in the search bar

Mate to be honest I wouldn't touch it, is that the only mod on the engine you will have?

Well we've all got to learn somewhere, if you are happy to cut into a pipe and give it a go, just be happy IF you end up having to fix anything.

It's all part of modding cars, I've self taught myself most thing, it's only nuts and bolts so will give it a go.

My advice, take lots of pictures if you aren't sure and go to some local meets, you'll find someone there with a mod you want to do, so can ask about it and take a look at the method.

Yeh true mate, but the picture shows him where the T Piece goes, if someone's asking silly questions what would you tell them, yeh go ahead mate let break your car or mate just leave it lol

And at the moment it is the only mod, but I'm 19 and I have to start somewhere, its my first car... And I love it, so will get to doing things to it, but this is a starting point for me... I have to start somewhere..

Take plenty of pictures and make notes, label things. That way if and when things go wrong you have a point to return to.

Make sure you have the correct tools for the job and have enough parts to repair anything that goes wrong.

Take your time and give yourself time.

Yes we all started somewhere and yes we have all made mistakes just be aware of the implications of what you are doing.

I'm 52 and have been around cars and bikes all my life but this is my first turbo car and I ask "stupid" questions its how we learn.

Defiantly give it a go, then let us know how you get on.

Keep this thread going and ask any other questions you may have and someone will point you in the right direction.

This is my first turboed car out of the 26 I've owned, so is a learning curve for me to and I'm 34.

In the picture shown, look at where the blue pipe is going. In that picture where it's going you can see a plastic T shaped bit. On the other end is a black pipe. They're joined to the fpr which is the circular thing underneath. It used to be just the black pipe that went in to the fpr. So now with some new hose and a plastic T you do what it shows in the pic above yours. Hope that makes sense.

Thank you to you all trying to help me! It really does mean a lot.

And again sorry for my ignorance but is this the pipe, just T pipe right there? The other engine bay is slightly different to mine

I understand now, thank you, I'll do it from here later on, then I've just got to scotch clip the wires in :) thanks again guys, I'll post pictures of me doing it so that it might help someone else who is also a newbie like myself
