There is a MK3 Leon Cupra 290 coming soon with 7 speed DSG... but it won't be available in the UK.

7 speed DSG box must be same as in latest Audi RS3, though can't be the same 5 cylinder head, or can it?!?

Ha keep dreaming, the 7 speed doesn't need to be mated with the 2.5, unless you think all tiguans are sleepers

Surely the RS3 DSG box is a different box to the Tiguan?

its the 2.0TSI EA888 same as Cupra 280 but its been given the CJXD engine code apparently.

Won't be available here anyway and tbh... apart from the 7 speed box its not worth it as a Standard 280 makes 300 anyway.

2 UK dealers already confirmed they know about 290 that's due end of year + confirmed Continental tyre change too.
Do not understand why no 7 speed box for UK - Suppose may become clear in time

I don't think the 290 is being sold at all in the UK.

Hi, don't how in UK, but in other countries (EU) Cupra 280 will be automatically updated to Cupra 290 begining week 45. There will be also price increase.

It's already too expensive, might as well spend another grand now and you'll get a Golf R

There isn't actually an upgrade.. 280 makes 300 from factory.

The ecu file is identical to Golf R.

So do’s anyone know if this new 290 upgrade has actually had an engine/ecu change or is it just a rebranding of the 280 as they allegedly produce 290-300ps anyway?
