My little 1.6 SX project

Hi guys. I think my car starts to look better so decided to make this thread to show you my 05 Seat Leon SX 1.6. Less powered car but still great as second car in 1 year of driving . I got the car in January this year completely standard and done few bits and bobs to it. I had to take care of body work condition as previews owner didn't really care about scratches lol. More mods will be coming slowly due to student and part timer budget. I got the car for £1200 with 55k on clock, nice and tidy inside and FSH.



Things done so far:



New cambelt and water pump

Tinted lights including side indicators

Tinted windows rear only

Few stickers on rear window

HID look bulbs

Custom SS Back Box ( Straight pipe from cat to back box next week tho )

Sony Head unit

17" Audi Alloy wheels refurbished in gun metal

Debadge

Aero wipers

Overall TLC (quick polish and scratches removed)



Mods that will be coming ( slowly )



Cupra front splitter

40mm lowering springs

Induction kit

Rear wheel spacers 15/20mm

Plasti dipped SEAT badges in white

Vinyl wrapped wing mirrors, roof and spoiler in white

Maybe plasti dipped alloys in white as well

Great second car mate and a bargain at the price/miles.

Your plans sound good but beware once the modding bug gets a grip it's hard to let go

Plasti dipped my front and back badges/lettering recently and looks loads better than before imo.

Hi. Yeah I am very happy with my leon as a second car. Quite cheap on insurance comparing to golf or a3 that I was looking for as well.

I have to agree with that, it is very addicted. When I bought the car I only wanted some cheap alloys and had a budget of £100, but ended up paying £350 lol, then custom back box, bit and bobs and I have to do overtimes at work now.

Ive watched lots of youtube videos on plasti dipped and it seems easy and giving some good results. I will check out you readers ride now

Also as its only 1.6 I only going to concentrate on visual mods as don't think its worth to try and increase performance apart from induction kit but thats for sound really tho lol. Want the car to look decent as Im planning to keep a car for 2 or 3 years until I can afford cupra.

Yeah I've never understood that the overall cost for a VW/Audi is so much higher than the seats.

As essentially they are the same cars/parts just different badges.

Ha ha yes the budgets get blown out of the water sometimes lol, but if it makes you happy who cares

That's sensible or if you do decide to make a big purchase it's always good if you can transfer it onto your next Seat.

And as for big buys I dont think its worth it still because Im not sure which seat I buy next. Will graduate from uni this year so hopefully will be able to afford mk2 fr or maybe cupra next

Sweet good luck with uni buddy, you won't regret buying a Cupra/FR that's for sure they are great cars.

Quick update. Today I ordered cupra splitter and mk2 LEON lettering ;D cant wait till wendsday now.

So, today I have fitted my cupra splitter and i think its well spended £40 as it makes massive difference to the bumper and gave my car better look. Also sticked the leon lettering and wrapped my interior in skate black and white vinyl ;D

This what I have purchased today ;D h&r 35mm lowering kit. Decided to get this instead of coil overs as too much work with arb and I'm not looking to slam it but to reduce the gap in the wheel arches. Also got some top strut mounts. Car on the axle stands ready to fit the springs ;d let the work begin.

Later on today I'm be picking up Cupra starfish alloys for £90!!! To replace my Audi wheels ;D

I graduated from uni last year and bought myself a MK2. We think alike . Good luck with uni bud. Also looking forward to seeing the badges plast dipped in white. Was thinking of doing that to my black mk2 but wasn't sure.

Done well then mate did you had mk1 before or this is your first leon?? As for the white badges I think I've changed my minds and will do them black as well as alloys. But not 100% sure yet. I will do them white if I vinyl wrap my mirrors and roof in black and white skate vinyl same as interior. Not sure yet. Plasti dip is great because can be easily removed if you dont like it

Today I have picked up these cupra starfish alloys to replace my Audi alloys. It was a bargain at £50 with need of 2 tyres only ;D will be spraying them black. Going for blacked out look ;D

So, here it is with new alloys i think they look way better than previews ones. Also done rear fabia wiper conversion. Should do this as soon as i got the car because i finally can see something when raining lol.

So as im not planning to keep the car for long I had a bit of fun with my leon, some paint and vinyl heres the outcome. Some will like it some hate it. I kinda like it
