Make sure they put the new loom in also mate I'm sure they will as it's part of the recall,but just mention it to cover yourself

Not really a worthwhile update but its one none the less.
Had the injectors changed on the recall by Seat on Tuesday. Had this little beast as a loan car haha
Also detailed the interior and gave the bay a good once over.
It's crying out for a battery box though.

I currently have a gti 6 (my 3rd one) which is in my garage broken.
Sadly they're worth so little now it'll have to be sold for almost scrap

Whats up with the 6? Would love one to mess about with or have as a track toy. You very rarely see them these days.
Ive had it nearly a year and its done naff all apart from sit in my garage mate, basically it sounded a bit rough when driven almost like a noise that increased with the revs, now these cars are famous for being "tappers" but Im pretty sure this isn't as it was bought from someone who knows their stuff with these cars. It also only started doing it after a hundred or so miles, before that noise the heater matrix went which they replaced for free (so at least it has a nice new one). Then the alarm kept going off so I had to disconnect that.
It was a cheapie bought for a bit of fun, bodywork is ok, not perfect but acceptable, interior is in good nick though!
I think it needs either breaking and scrapping or for someone to fix up in their spare time but I have my heart set on a leon cupra now so don't really have the time or botherdness to do it.
would suit someone for spares, if I could be bothered I am sure I could sell the cyclones and interior etc for a few quid! but its being bothered to do it all.

Would you mind listing the products you use to keep the car looking so good (more than just elbow-grease of course) - should I be inclined would love to treat my car from time to time!

If I had the cash and the space I would take it off you as I would love to have one to fix up. Probably the best car I've owned for driving experience alone. Such a shame so many of them are ending up being broken.

Thanks Matt, appreciate the comments. I know what you mean about cleaning them, they show the dirty so much. I love the way they look once clean, and the reflections on them once done are immense. I'm like you and sometimes leave it for months before it gets cleaned.
The products I use are..
Valet Pro Citrus pre wash - applied via garden pump sprayer (leave to dwell for 5 mins then rinse)
Valet Pro Snow foam - applied via Gilmour foam gun (dont always use this and the pre wash as they essentially do the same job)
Wash with a decent shampoo - usually Autoglym but only because I have a load of it. (want to try something better)
Dry with a Poorboys waffle weave towel (can do whole car before it needs ringing out)
Polish with Poorboys black hole - (this stuff is amazing for darker colours)
Wax with either Nattys paste wax (pink) or P21s carnuba wax.
Meguiars endurance tyre gel on tyres.
Autoglym trim and bumper gel on scuttle and pillars.
Also the car gets clayed twice a year with a G3 clay mitt and de-ironised with Iron-X.
Hi Daniel have u ever tried poorboys trim restorer on the scuttle and pillars? The finish is top class
I haven't tried it, but love Poorboys products so might have to give it a whirl. How long does it last?
I use there products myself. I gave my car a real good going over 3 weeks ago and there still looking good. I left the product on for a good hour or there abouts to let it soak in well then buffed it of with a microfiber towel. And it smells great too
Not today but yesterday, I took the car back to Big Fish to see if John could rectify the regen and hesitation issues and after hooking the car up to VCDS it shows the DPF level is very high and just above the regen level constantly. This would explain why it regenned 3 times yesterday and usually every other day. John said this will be why its regenning so often and why its hesitating as its always near the limit. Not sure this is the cause of the hesitation personally as the MPG is down to around 38 so my thought was that its overfuelling.
After talking through the options of either having the DPF gutted or having the map taken off, we agreed the best course of action would be to do the DPF delete an John agreed to do it at his Stockton branch for £200 instead of the £400+ they usually charge. So I just need to book it in now as I don't think I could go back to it unmapped lol.
Have a new job that I start tomorrow which is extra £600+ a month to my last one so will be able to cover it now with out eating into my house savings. My only problem is they can only do the DPF work during the week which isnt convenient as I need the car for work and they don't have a loan car.
Going to be a busy month or so car wise as its due a service now, MOT is start of April and the discs and pads are due all round also.

Did they gut you dpf... or fit a bypass...only asking due to the new mot rules last yr.

Gave the FR a much needed detail. Was good to try out some new products I've bought over the past few weeks like my new Nilfisk power washer.
Valet Pro citrus pre wash followed by another new purchase some Auto Finesse lather shampoo (great stuff by the way). Then some Nattys paste wax and finally another new one in G Techniq Crystal V3 (very pleased with it).
MOT is this weekend, then I'll stick the headlight tint on and plasti-dip the badges.

MOT today, passed without a single advisory . They didnt even mention the small front plate.

Good day today, after the MOT went well I thought I might as well get on with tinting the headlights and spraying the front grille badge.

Wrapping stuff is a right pain, and close up there are a couple of imperfections but happy none the less.
Now onto the badge, used plasti-dip and find it very easy to use.
And fitted
Badge needs touching up, which I'll do tomorrow. When peeling the excess off I caught a bit of the side. No biggy though, just a 10 min job for tomorrow.
Hopefully get the rear badge done tomorrow too.
