Yeah it's a bit nerve racking letting someone play around with your motor. He should be able to see if/what map is on it by scanning the ECU I'm sure or via VCDS.

Niki did this on mine and was able to basically see everything what was going on including how many times the ECU had been flashed etc.

Again try not to worry mate just ask him all the questions you want answers to before he does anything and once your happy go from there.

Thanks bud, i will be asking him a lot of questions!

That torque reading mine has given i knocking on stage 2 torque readings but only with 178.5bhp?! The figures just don't add up! Either something is wrong or his rollers readings are all over!

Will see what happens tomorrow

Thanks for your help

No worry's mate your welcome! Yes it will be interesting to see what the figures are tomorrow as I'm guessing he'd put it on the rollers again before doing any tuning regardless that it's been on them today.

Plus I'm also guessing it's a custom map done on the rollers and not a generic plug and play job. That way he will be able to see exactly how the car is performing in the fuel, air and timing areas.

Also he will be able to take advantage of what your car is running to get the best out of her without going stupid for example what air filter, fuel, exhaust your running etc.

Spent the day getting the car as near as i could ready for attempt two on a remap tomorrow at Big Fish Tuning!

Treated it to a wash off and hoover. Removed hoses and pipes to check for any boost / air leaks, checked the turbo turbine blades on the intake side and shaft for any movement, all spot on. Removed the MAP sensor to check it wasn't blocked off with carbon build up, not a bit to be seen so again, spot on. Removed intercooler pipes to check for any oil in the intercooler, all clear. Oil and water checked, all good.

Can't fault a thing, so all good to go tomorrow, fingers and toes crossed!

Let us know how you get on. Hopefully John will get it sorted for you :)

Cheers mate, all in all a great day. Went to see John and left the car with him.

Good news is, nothing wrong with the car at all, he said the engine is running perfect. Bad news, isn't any!?

The guys a genius and a nice genuine guy, even a courtesy txt checking all was ok! Car is spot on and what a difference!! Very smooth with steady away driving but when you give it some, it's brutal! He is very confident the car is easily doing 210 - 215bhp and he will confirm it when his new rolling road is completed.

Car pulls very strong in all gears and hard to keep traction in second and third gear!

All in all after a few crappy days wondering what was what, finally one happy chappy! ;)

Cheers for your help!

Thats awesome mate, he really is good isn't he.

Haha I'm the same, have no traction in 2nd or 3rd lol. It's amazing how different they feel after a map. It's also nice to have power all through the rev range.

Glad you're happy Rich ;)

Cheers mate, very happy and yes he is very good!

Mine was already mapped but it's like going up another stage, he did say there is a chance mine might make over the 210 - 215bhp with having the DPF / Cat delete and 3.5" exhaust system, that's why he wants it on his rolling road as soon as it's done.

Looking forward to that to find out!

Sounds very promising mate. Would like to stick mine on the rollers too to see how it's doing.

They have rollers on Norton Avenue in Stockton, they are having a rolling road day this coming saturday

You, anyone going along?
Tbh ideally after waiting this long I would wait until I get the new exhaust sytem in a couple weeks but would try and come down if anybody was going.
