Well it's been a while since i updated my build thread so thought i would add some of the progress.

My first job was pretty much needed asap. A friend of mine who has the same car, year and engine as mine but with less mileage, informed me that he had lost his engine due to a part on the inlet manifold coming adrift. The part had fallen into one of the cylinders, i'm sure the what followed is pretty obvious to most!

Thought i'd best check mine for peace of mind, just not worth my engine to leave to chance! So i removed my inlet manifold -

It's a good job i did! Two parts of mine were adrift as well so very lucky!

So a new manifold was needed. A common fault so i was informed and the manifold is now on it's third revision by Seat which is the one i have now fitted. So that was one job out of the way and have peace of mind as well!

Now onto the fun stuff :D

My exhaust had seen better days, so off to have a cat back custom stainless system fitted and happy with it i am! -

I decided to go for bigger tailpipes to fill the cut out a little better than the factory ones and also decided on the staggered pipes.

That sorted i then decided to fit the gloss black Cupra b & c pillar trims.

Then the best bits! I fitted the Eibach Sportline Kit, new top mounts and bearings and new anti roll bar links followed by new 19" alloys and tyres! Decided i wanted to try something different with the wheels, didn't want black, silver, graphite etc so took a chance on something i haven't seen on a Leon and very happy with the finished result, take a look and see what you think?

This is how it looked with the first minor mods when i first bought it -

Quite like the colour of those wheels against the white tbh.

Are they 8.5/9.5 front/rear widths?

What offset are they out of interest, and what size/brand tyres are on there?

Sounds like you were lucky with your manifold!

Thanks, was a risk but one that paid off i think.

The wheels are 8.5 all round.

Not 100% sure on offset, just looked on one of the boxes they came in and it says +40

Tyres are 225/35 and Green max, read reviews on them which come back good, so far i cannot fault them at all!

Yes very lucky with the manifold, would have been a nightmare if i hadn't checked it when i did and cost me three times as much!

Cheers Rich, I've just changed the wheels on mine (et42) and have Sportlines fitted, but they're catching slightly, but I have 235's as that's what was standard fitment on the original wheels. Looks like im gonna have to change the rront tyres!

No worries mate, i've just had a look on the receipt and mine are et 40.

I was advised when i bought them that if i was leaving the ride height standard, i could use 235's. If i was lowering it to fit 225's or they would rub, they got it spot on!

How much was it mate, if you don't mind me asking?

Also does your car regen a lot with the remap? Mine's doing it every 2 days now.

The exhaust was £325 all in.

As for regen, i can't recall mine ever doing a regen in the time i've had it and map was already done when i bought it

Nice wheels mate :love::love::love:
On the intake manifold issue you could have taken out the shaft from the original manifold and solved the problem for free (see image)...
