Hi all my names Flynn, I've been trawling though this great website for the past couple of months after placing my order for my new cupra 280. I test drove a 5dr 280 dsg with leather at letchworth seat and fell in love with it, the only thing was I wanted a SC with a manual box and alacantara. No one near me had one as a demo so I though I'd just bite the bullet and go for it....and I'm so pleased I did the car drives like a dream the manual gearbox is sublime so tight and notchy I love it (I know what a wonderful gearbox the dsg is as I've had them in the past and if I was commuting in the car daily I probably would of gone for one, call me old fashioned but nothing beats the feeling of banging through the gears yourself ;) )

So the options I went for were........ Nothing, not one tick on the option list (other than the phantom black paint, think I've got a problem my last 5 cars have been black  ) the main reason is that we've leased the car (was so much cheaper than dealer pcp) but also the standard car is so well specked and there wasn't anything that really anything that appealed to me.

We were told 12+ weeks on ordering but it was 8wks and 3 day from placing the order to it being parked on my drive. First thing was to give a real good detail, I don't know how dealers manage to get quite so many swirl marks on such a new vehicle in such a short space of time, nothing that a quick whizz over with the da and some p.b's blackhole won't sort out.

Got this far then the heavens opened so will have to try again Saturday

In the mean time I want to get myself a set of winter rims and tyres ordered up, I'm still split on which rims to go for I'm a massive fan of the bbs "euro" style wheels but I'm torn between the VZ's and a set of lightweight team dynamics prorace 1.2 (there's even a set of budget dare alloys that I quite like the fact that their £300 cheaper than the bbs might have made them a contender  )

 Any opinions greatly considered ???

Well that's all for now, thanks for taking a look.
Flynn.

Nice car, my 1st wheel choice would be the BBS from the above and is very similar to the design I have for my winters, when fitted will post a picture be mid December.

2nd would be the Dares, not a fan of the TD's

I think I'm with you there the td's are a little on the "curvy" side which won't really suit the angular lines of the leon, might have re-think the lightweight option. Unfortunately I made the mistake of asking the wife she looked and said definelty the dare's "ok you like them the best?" No they're the cheapest she replied

nice car, I'm also waiting for mine, but it's still 1,5 weeks to build up. I'm going to use stock rims for winter (ordered version 265) and buy new for summer period. I found at the moment Borbet BS5 black polished, 18",
http://borbet.de/index.php?cat=PREMIUM_BS5&lang=ENG&product=P000011
but my car will be Nevada white. They look similar to the 19" performance pack rims

The waits worth it in the end mate ;) Those borbets will look really nice with the Nevada white. I didn't think about looking for a set of the 18's off the 265 to keep that factory look, bet they'd be more expense from seat than an aftermarket set of bbs lol.

Looks grand mate. :D

Thanks Rab, I was just checking out your cupra I'll be honest I'd dismissed the red off the bat as I'm not normally a fan but your pics have definitely changed my mind the bright red really makes it stand out. Every time I go to get new car I walk in thinking something different colour wise this time.....every time I walk away with a black one  lol

I did black, but it was too labour intensive to keep it shiny..

Works when it's clean though!

Tell me about the keeping it clean  at one point I had a black golf, a black grand Cherokee and a black transit van on the drive I must be a glutton for punishment (friends always joked my drive looked like a funeral directors:D )

Looks very nice, definitely prefer the bbs or 1.2 s.

Thanks, The bbs are definitely out in front at the mo think I'll be making a phone call Monday morning ;)

Looking good, just a manual version of mine, as I too took the Phantom Black paint and added the spare wheel as my only options.

Thanks, I must admit I checked yours out a few times whilst waiting for mine to come ;) As ours is on a lease I picked up a unused spare and tool kit off eBay for £80 plan is to take it out when the car goes back and and pop it back on eBay.
